If people are trying to make you feel guilty or ashamed about not working, then they're being pretty rude.
I didn't have time to read this whole thread, but you should also count your blessings. Your dad hired you into a family business and cut you an ownership slice. He also sent you to a very good private college. I'm not saying you didn't work hard, but most people never get the kinds of opportunities you had. |

Can you imagine driving your Range Rover to the dealership for maintenance only to have this guy as your shuttle driver? It’s not already bad enough that your car is in the shop 24/7, but to make things worse, you have to deal with a shuttle driver who won’t shut up about people being jealous of him? I honestly cannot think of anything worse than that. Truly hell on earth.

I must be missing something here. So your annoyed with peoples response to your telling them your retired. I'm not sure how this comes up in everyday conversation with people you just met but if they ask just tell them your a car jockey. Problem solved.
