It’s happening all over but in my case, there was no specific reference that I had to get.
Fortunately, I was in the market for items for the wife.
I was able to get her the PM she wanted at 20% discount and my BLRO at MSRP.
Had I not been in the market for hers, no way I would have bought something I was forced to in order to get what I wanted.

Same happened at a different AD for my Batman. She walked away with her dream ring and I got my BLNR.

What is this, what other type of retailer does this. You must return all all the things you bought can not just the ones you don't want...madness.

I am sure the AD will not produce the SS model until the 3 day return policy is over, or as Jcy90 says, they will write no returns allowed on the invoice.

If you somehow are able to pull it off, then the manager of the AD has to be one of the dumbest business people in existence.

But go ahead and try it, you certainly have a captive audience!

That's true I guess. If you bought item A and the store had a promotion that you could buy item B at 50%....you couldn't return item A and still keep item B at 50% off. You'd either have to return both or the store would charge you full price for item B.

I'd carefully read their return policies and carefully understand any "exceptions" to the policy. Because they could request both watches back.

Personally, I think the whole thing is a pain in the butt and is not worth my time or effort to go through a situation like this. It's just a bloody watch!! And we are not talking about playing around with $20 but we are talking $40k-$60k. That's serious money. He said, she said, policy says this, policy says that, credit card company will do this or won't do that, where's my credit, burn bridges, is this right or is this wrong and you might end up back where you started .....no BLRO

To me, time is money. Aggravation is a waste of energy that I could be spending on more fun things.

Is this how you want to remember your acquisition of your BLRO? But at the end of the day it's your call, your time, your energy, your money.

Best of luck whatever you decide

Good advice, can't argue with any. I'd be inclined to make it known my money was going to another AD and likely another brand

Can hardly blame you for that. I'll admit that a white dial DJ41 has crossed my mind more than a few times...lol

In this situation there would be no discount. So I don’t think that returning one item because of a discount would matter in this case. I’m not sure if they can legally put no return on it since the company has a 3 day return policy. But like someone said the smart thing would be to hold the SS model for 4 days.

True. But if they were smart they'd hold the BLRO or add an exception to their return policy

I'm a simple person with simple needs (besides too many watches LOL). This rather convulated transaction would cause me to lose too many of my limited brain cells ...Hahahaha

If every AD is doing this, how does going to another AD help? Makes no sense

My AD doesn't and I have never had to buy anything "bundled" to buy either of my SS Daytonas

You and me both. They have made me go to TS which are gray sellers in Tuen feeding this ridiculous cycle.

Exactly what I’m hearing, actually, if you want a Pepsi or Daytona SS, you must buy a PM Rolex of some type.

wow.... we call it tight selling where I work. In order for you to get product A, I will need you to consider getting product B ... like what the hell. They must play on the fact you want the watch and have the means for it.
You should be able to buy whatever YOU want, what kind of relationship this AD/Jeweler has here ...
