34mm on a guy

I have a 34mm 6426 now and I had a 6694 oysterdate before. Both vintage 34mm size. I have a slightly above average wrist and it looks perfectly fine. Oh and the Tudor as well on the strap.

It’s the size they were intended to be and back then when they were sold, it was a standard men’s size. 34,36mm and 38 for the divers.

34mm will work, its just a mindset issue.
Once you are accustomed to a larger watch size like 40mm 34mm will at first blush look too small.

Wear 30mm to 44mm on my 6.5 wrist. Whatever you like is all that matters. There really is no too big or small, unless the lugs extend well beyond the top up the wrist creating gaps underneath. That is probably too big.

My first Rolex was a 34mm. It hasn’t seen my wrist in years and most likely won’t ever again. I had the bracelet fitted for the wife and now she enjoys it on her wrist. She calls it her “ boyfriend” watch.

It’s really a matter of what you like on your wrist.

What I would say to everyone judging on pictures only, if a watch looks good size wise in a standard wrist shot, then it’s probably going to be a little bit small in person.

Phone cameras have wide angle lenses. What the sensor records isn’t what your eyes see perspective wise.

Light dial, practically zero bezel, and leather strap (which helps the watch itself stand out) all contribute to that look, too.

It's an Air King. It's supposed to be 34mm. It's the right size on any one who enjoys the history/heritage of the Air King.

Of course, Rolex went ahead and ruined that by inflating it to a 40mm, PCL behemoth, but I digress...

The rest go between 36mm all the way to 50mm. They all wear nicely too so is it just me or can we not wear just about anything within reason?

But that’s about more than size. I’d more readily assume that a guy in the old leopard Daytona had borrowed his wife’s watch than a guy in a 34mm OP (or even vintage 31mm).

99% of the public wouldn't know the difference between a 36mm and 34mm watch. If it looks good and you like the way it wears and fits, then buy it and enjoy it.

The most helpful advice when buying a watch is to first forget this forum exists. Everyone is going to have a different opinion about your wrist.

My wrist is 7.25 and I wear a 34MM AK, and a 34MM Date. When I wear something like my Speedmaster, I think it looks too big!!

To everyone answering a definitive "yes" or "no" to whether a guy can wear a 34mm watch or not, then the real answer is that it's completely dependent on wrist size. It has nothing to do with absolute size of the watch, and everything to do with proportion.

We all have different sized wrists, so different sized watches will suit some people better than others. To me, saying that a certain size watch is arbitrarily too small or too big for a man to wear (without any consideration for wrist size and proportion), is like saying that men can only wear one size of shoe!

34mm looks absolutely fine on the OP's wrist as it looks perfectly proportioned to the size of his wrist.
