Personally I like it the way it is. I probably would have never known about the Navy issue Tudors had Tudor not been in the main forum. The 925 and the Heritage Chrono are also tempting.

Firstly, Rolex NEVER made Tudor calibres. They didn't even make their own as they contracted these exclusively from Aegler. Secondly, Swatch and Omega are not alike at all and have a completely different history. It's this history that links Rolex and Tudor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Tudor is becoming more and more interesting and slowly filling the ‘old’ space occupied by Rolex. Some really interesting pieces released this year too. The BB58 925 in Silver is out of the box thinking, looks stunning and really works well.

Understand where OP is coming from. But this is my opinion too. Tudor is Rolex.

Does a Tudor deserve space on a Rolex forum?
BTW
It's not the "Rolex" forum that Tudor is crashing. It's named as both brands, not the Rolex forum that we let Tudor crash. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk Pro |

Does a Tudor deserve space on a Rolex forum?
I don’t think the Op meant anything wrong with the original post. After all, this is a Rolex forum where the minimum price for admission is very expensive to be in this “club”. Rolex is about exclusivity whether one likes it or not and I think everyone on this forum that is a member understands this.
Personally, I like the old school Tudors and don’t mind any posts from Tudor fans and think the history is cool. I also like that people posts other watches from time to time like SKX Seikos, Omegas, etc. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

OP does come across as a snob in the way that he expresses himself, at least initially. Now, there's nothing "exclusive" about owning a mass produced watch. There's no such "club" that commands an admission price; one either has or doesn't have the means to own a Rolex. And owning one doesn't make a person any better or worse. Tudor is a part of Rolex, one that I wasn't even aware of until I began to frequent these forums and further educated myself on the history of the brand. And I'm glad I did. |

After reading through the responses its become evident a new forum is required at TRF. I think the dapper gentlemen who feel a bit uncomfortable being forced to associate with Tudor should have their own forum! Rolex only and nothing older than 2015 allowed! It would be called the D forum (for Dapper!) and the forum logo would be a capital D emblazoned on a stylish Abercrombie & Fitch bag! This would put owners of lesser timepieces on notice that silence is as golden as a diamond encrusted 45 mm Day Date! Members of the D forum could self select or perhaps be nominated by less fortunate members.
Please, no accolades, happy to help in these parlous times! |

Tudor fans deserve their own sub forum. Make it happen mods. Tudor has graduated, no need to continue living in their parents house. I personally grow tired of seeing Tudor posts as they don’t interest me in the least bit.

This. There are so many differences between modern day Tudor and modern day Rolex.

I’ve noticed that too. I think it’s by design as Tudor was once marketed as an affordable Rolex alternative. I can imagine someone holding both models and associating the extra weight of the case with premium quality. The Tudor in the below picture is light weight and has the classic bracelet of older Rolex/ Tudor models. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hmm, I think it needs it's own forum. Tudor is not a Rolex no more than Tissot or Hamilton is a Omega. Maybe over seen by the same people, but they are different in there on right and deserves there own forum. Tudor makes more than BB's and Plegos watches but rarely recognized on the Rolex forum. I say give the Tudor enthusiasts there own forum.

I agree Tudor should have it’s on forum in addition to the Rolex forum. Rolex doesn’t own Tudor but they do make Tudor. If you’re a Rolex employee you’ll be working on Rolex projects and Tudor projects. Anyone who owns a Rolex and Tudor can see the same work in both watches. All the little things from design of the warranty to the case/ bracelet markings. There’s only so many things you can feel on a watch and the crown mechanism is the obvious one. It’s the same on this Tudor as it was on my White OP 39 ( from the likely clicking noise as you you unscrew to the way it disengages and screws in) Before Tissot and Omega merged, they were two separate watch makers, and they are now owned by the same company. Not really comparable to Rolex and Tudor. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Rolex used to outsource quite a few of their components and it wasn’t until fairly recently, relative to the history of the brand, that they’ve been making their bracelets in-house.
I hate to throw historical facts into this Rolex v. Tudor argument perpetuated by the members of this forum that actually know very little about watches and history other than the pretty pictures on their Instagram feed, how much they cost, and how long the waiting list is. |

Wiki” Montres TUDOR SA is a Swiss manufacturer of luxury wristwatches based in Geneva. Registered in 1926 by Hans Wilsdorf, the founder of Rolex SA, the brand remains a sister company to Rolex, both companies being owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Foundation. Over time Tudor became especially well known for its tool watches, producing watches for professional divers and the military. Between the 1960s and 1980s[3] several navies issued Tudor Submariners to their divers, including the US Navy SEALs, and the French Marine Nationale (French Navy).[4] |

I like seeing the tudor threads here. There's a lot of overlap in terms of history, interest and ownership (of the watches and company), it's the right tip of the hat all three commonalities.
I would disagree that this is the same as saying omega and hamilton or tissot in the same forum is similarly appropriate. The only thing they share is corporate ownership, there's little substance in that. |
