Any insides regarding the bracelet? Does it have polished elements or all brushed like the OG 1832?

Was seriously considering a Laureato. Wondering how folks think this potential new release could stack up? I imagine GP is still regarded as a more "premium" brand vs. IWC.
Although if this new Ingineuer had a bracelet with micro-adjust + quick release other straps... it might just win me over. |

I really hope a redesign is coming next week. I've had some interest in the G-P Laureato but if IWC releases this, I would much rather have one of those.

Pricing seems really ambitious on the IWC, close to the Laureato's street price. Although after the initial hype fades you should see the usual IWC discount. But if this model is super hot (I imagine it will be) then it might take a while to see such discounts. The Zenith Chronomaster Sport seems to still be holding value really well compared to how Zenith has traditionally been, to use an example. I imagine for that kind of premium price, you'd get all the goodies. 32111 movement, although keeping with the spirit of the Ingenieur probably will have soft iron case so no visible movement, which would be a disappointment. Bracelet will probably have same functionality as the Mark XX bracelet. Same microadjust system, quick change strap system, easy to size, etc. I also hope it comes with extra straps as well. This is what I'd expect at a minimum considering the price point and what recent IWC products have shown. |

I've been hoping for an updated version for quite some time now. I had a beautiful 322701 many years ago.

Just FYI, IWC for some models including the new Ingenieur is now going as application for allocation - a model like other Richemont brands...

Supposedly these screenshots were taken from the IWC website or Instagram when these photos were up briefly. Looks the case will crown guards alsoThe holes seem to be there. |

That’s a good attitude and I agree. Just basing it off my prior experience owning and the current state of the market. Do we know the price point?

Every brand needs their "Royal oak" to get people in the door. This would be theirs. I'd buy one if the price and finish was right.

Looking forward to this - off to W&W with IWC so will get my name down if it's nice - think they could kill it with a classic Ingenieur in ceratanium on a full ceretanium bracelet.

I am a surprised about all the excitement when y'all could have gotten an 1832 any time and for rather cheap as well (10-15k until not too long ago). Personally, I'd rather have the OG than a remake in most circumstances including, for example, the 222 even if the cost is a lot higher.
That said, and despite deciding against getting an 1832 years ago, I am also curious what they have come up with as I was a big IWC fan in the late 1990s and early 2000s. An 1832 remake at the right price that is a little less chunky than the OG might do well against the likes of the Alpine Eagle which I find just weird and Laureato which I find less interesting in terms of looks. |

Where is the IWC Genta Ingenieur?
The cost of the OG is likely a bit lower in this case and while the design is true to the original the manufacturing quality (specifically the bracelet quality) isn't going to be as good as the modern one. I'm waiting for the new one myself.

The current Portugieser bracelet would perfectly fit between those lugs:
In my opinion this is a bad design as it's exactly the opposite of what every Ingenieur had (it had the middle sticking out and being the single lug). |

Looks nice. All about the end link / integration. This rendering looks good compared to later models what were basically lugs with a fat fake integration link.

Looking forward to the release. I'm not a fan of the same artificial limited-access / "exclusivity" model... But the "scarcity effect" marketing tactic has worked wonders in the space for many brands, so I can't blame IWC for following suit. (though I'd note that IWC is indeed a follower in many respects).
That said, if it looks like this, with the fat un-tapering bracelet with angular curves, it would be a great success in my eyes: If it looks like this, with sharpe angles and a steep taper, however, it would be a massive disappointment. The above "leaked pics" appear as though it will look like the latter. I hope not. |

This integration and taper is pinnacle in my eye.
