I really like the watch but it’s not a watch I would like to wear for everyday use.
So my question is, would you guys buy the watch to "get a foot in the door" with the dealer and get the chance to be offered some of the less accessible watches that I’m interested in down the road?

My plan is to acquire and keep 5-10 Rolex watches over the next 10-15 year period. So the WG sub I would probably just put away in a box only using it for special occasions.

All thoughts appreciated.
Short answer no and thats exactly what's wrong today with many willing to play so called AD games. And why anyone would buy a very expensive Rolex watch to get a so called foot in the door defeats me, or perhaps they have more money than sense.

Truth ….

I never could understand the whole WG thing - unless you’re allergic to SS - what’s the point ?

Wait for the SS and save your coin …

I would buy it and wear it daily if I could afford it. What else would you need?

I would buy it and wear daily if I expressed an interest for it. And change the steel professional preference to something else - eg. GMT, SD or YM

Watches are made to be worn.

Wouldn’t buy - if you’re unsure then I think you have your answer.

What are the other watches on your list that you are planning to acquire?

OP has three posts, none since December. I’m betting he doesn’t have a list.
