I should be surprised by the sexism here but I’m not. Women are free to wear any watch they want to just as men are.
I still remember a very petite woman, dressed like a model, working in the Dallas Panerai Boutique wearing a 47mm Luminor. She had the presence to pull it off, looked awesome. |

FWIW, even Rolex approves of women wearing the "mens" sizes
Merely a matter of preference and style. My wife currently has a 37mm but if she ever wants a Daytona I'll be at the AD that same afternoon to get one! |

True, but how many of us guys would wear a 44mm - 47mm Panerai on our wrists? I currently have a 2003 PAM00111 and it’s one of my favorite timepieces but at 44mm it is a monster on my wrist. I think it comes down to the individual and personal taste.

I once had a male jeweler do some custom work for me, and he was wearing a TT Tag Heuer SEL, like mine, but full size. It was sliding back and forth up his arm, the way a bangle bracelet would. I politely complemented him on his watch, as I would anyone, but did not ask why he preferred to wear it that way, for fear of it sounding like I was criticizing his fashion sense. Not me. I have chrono’s and dive watches. I use them to time many things throughout the day. In fact, my TT Explorer 1 is the only watch I have with out a means to track things.

I’m all for women wearing the Daytona, especially wearing nothing but the Daytona. That said, women tend to wear a watch differently than a guy and choose a more loose bangle bracelet sort of look. I think it looks cool.. To be honest, anyone can wear their watch however they want as there is no correct fitting or sizing. Today’s bracelets are so well-made and if kept clean, it won’t make a difference if they’re worn loose or tight in their longevity.
In the 80’s the 36mm Daydate was worn like a bangle bracelet on executives. Now days anything goes, and I questioned why anyone would feel their opinion on how someone else wears their a watch is’nt gauche??

Source Myriam Webster How is the comment exhibiting hatred towards women? Maybe you meant sexist? Which is still interpretative and not objective but at least in the vicinity being somewhat understandable. |

Women wearing Daytonas
Quote:
Wrong! That is a very narrow definition of the word misogyny. That word also conveys an attitude of sexism toward women. To say A WOMAN MUST BE “HOT” to pull off wearing a Daytona, is putting a different standard on her, than you would on a man, showing an obvious attitude of disrespect towards women, in general. Referring to a woman’s appearance is often used to make women feel “less than”, by males who feel superior. This blatant disrespect and obvious sexism need not rise to the level of hatred, in order to use the word misogyny correctly. You should get a better dictionary. I don’t believe it was you, who made the offensive statement, to begin with, so confused about your need to criticize my vocabulary. Kat Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |

Poor OP what a welcome to the forum. She makes her first post on TRF and it turn into this
Anyway, if you’re still here OP, as you can see there are varied opinions and that’s all they are. Some people think the Daytona is a unisex watch. Some people think it should only be worn by men. Some people think you’ll look hot. Others think not. It doesn’t really matter, in the end it’s your choice and I’m betting that if you are lucky enough to own one, you’ll love it. At least you’ve received plenty of opinions, and for the benefit of all male and female members we now know the Websters definition of Misogyny. |

Just to wade in on "team women" here.
I'm a woman, I work in the industry and wear anything ranging from a 126200, to a 116520, through a 14060M, beyond a 15710ST and 126600, and all the way up to a PAM00422. A "women's watch" is a watch that a woman chooses to wear. We dont all want to drip in diamonds, we dont all want quartz, and we dont all want tiny and "feminine" jewellery pieces. More to the point, the majority of female collectors do not give one tiny stuffed rats whether or not men find their choices "too masculine" or "not feminine enough" We arent collecting for your benefit. |
