Thank you; watches are nice things to have. Whilst this thread was taking shape Kathryn and i would sit on the sofa in amazement at all the comments.

Kathryn wasnt really into watches; but she did enjoy this thread!

Arrived a couple days early...just need to resist the temptation to read before I go on vacation in 3 weeks.

im going to order that book.

On a side note there is a series with Sir Ranulph Fiennes who wrote the forward to the book on nat geo that he did with his cousin Joseph Fiennes in egypt. Never knew who that guy was until last week.

Fantastic thread.true relationship and trust between man and his trusty watch.finally I get the real meaning of what it means to own and use a " tool " watch which can stand up to the harsh environment.perfect cooperation between man and machine.thanks again Steve for giving us and insight into your explorations and how the watch can assist us to co exist with the life and death reality of an unforgiving harsh environment.good health to you.
