Prayers going out for Gracie, her family and the docs.

That's rough, especially considering her age. I really hope she ends up finding a way through it.

I knew a young girl in Canada with leukaemia. Doctors had given up, told her she had 18 months "tops". Her parents took her to Italy and all of these other places she wanted to visit.

She's now in her twenties, still going strong. There's obviously health issues, but she's living a happy and fulfilling life. She completely defied the odds and every doctor/specialist.

Or there simply isn't a "god" to do any explaining. I can't wait till humans evolve past this stuff. (My take, to each their own).

I told my wife about this and she said a prayer for her. Still hoping everything works out. I look at my little girl and hope to God nothing like this happens to her. It just isn't right for a child or anyone for that matter to go through something so horrible.

Thanks all. I am sorry I haven't updated this much, but there isn't any good news. Last we know is that she has stage 3 brain cancer, and chemo has started. Gracie is at St. Jude's in Memphis (quite a distance from us), which is one of the best places to be for children's cancer. As a result, my updates are spotty as well, as I am sure, calling people is the last thing on her parents' mind right now. Again, thank you all!

Very sad news Greg My thoughts and prayers are with her and with your family.
It hurts to see a human being suffer and it hurts 20 times more to see an Angel in pain.
She will be in our prayers

Greg:

Sometimes, depending on type, cancer of the brain responds well to radiation and chemo. Also, for your family's peace of mind, you might want to suggest, short periodic email updates(one for the whole family), but not offer any critique if the updates are not regular or forthcoming. I hope this all works out. I'm sure the people in Memphis are very good at what they do.

Best,
Dan

Oh, my God. Our prayers and well wishes to Gracie, and to you while trying to support the family. I can never understand when awful and tragic things happen to children. I'm a huge Hunter Thompson fan, and sometimes I understand his final decision. The world sometimes makes no sense, Greg. All of our best wishes to Gracie, you, and your family. Good luck.

Greg - very saddening. There is a very famous neurosurgeon in Sydney, Australia called Dr Charlie Teo. Search him on google. He is said to do some pretty amazing surgery on brain tumors. Peace/
