I think I prefer the subtleness of the patek.

A tough call. The Patek is not understated, it flashes more gold in your face than the Rolex. The Patek bezel is more vulnerable to wear and tear than the Rolex.

I would pick the Rolex - it is truly stunning and modern in its look. The combination of black, rubber and rose gold works really well (just look at the sales figures for Hublot and AP models with that look). Great that Rolex went into this modern look.

.

Unfortunately Rolex have finally turned the Yacht-Master into what the ignorant always stated it was- a Sub. Plus they've followed Hublot and AP and committed the unforgivable sin of offering a massively overpriced watch without a bracelet.

Fan of both Rolex and PP, owning both.
But the PP more, since I am not a fan of YMI, in RG or otherwise.

Asking this in a Rolex forum so most answers will probably be YM... Personally I think the PP is the winner here, but you can't really go wrong

I'm in the minority here but I don't like rubber bands on nice watches.

I have not seen the YM in the flesh, but I do no know the Patek very well. It is absolutely gorgeous in person, the rubber is interesting I had the AD cut it down to size for me and got a free one thrown in with the first service for free. It is stunning and very lightweight, casebook is gorgeous.

My daughter loves it.

Time to pull out the coin and flip.

For some reason this thread seems to read... YM PP YM PP YM PP YM PP...

My choice would be the YM for durability.

If I did not have a Patek, I would have to pick one for my next watch. They are stunning in the metal.

That said, if I did not have a Rolex, I love this new YM.

I've been on TRF for about 1yr and have learned a great deal, including the letters, IBTL... We'll get to that another day, however I have been wanting to add a Precoius metal watch to the line-up and I have thought only about Rolex since, the group of people I know would only know Rolex as being a nice watch...

Then, I started hearing that it may be better to fly under the radar... Hence, the Patek.

I was wondering if you could help me out with some pro's and cons for each.

The Patek doesn't push my button and neither does that model Rolex.

So I can't help you.

BTW that is not how you spell precocious
