My circumstances mean that I would be more than happy to wait for a watch than pay an extra £500-1000 for it. I don't have the cash to throw at it like that.

So if I fly over to UK and the 116610LVc is US 9450 I could get it for about 7270 UK pounds ?? If it's available?

Current UK list price for 116610LV is £6600. But I've not seen one @ an AD since about April 2016

Is there any tax back at airport as you depart if not a U.K. Citizen? It's been a while since I've been there.

I have been delaying buying 4 watches due to time, following a heads up from Paul I bought 2 watches today, If prices don't go up it makes zero difference to me it just caused me to focus and get on with things.
It's been years since I have bought a new Rolex, it was a nice experience again. After buying the watches I DON'T think a price increase is coming soon - I was offered a as daytona with black dial at list price today or a white dial next week at list. If a price increase was imminent then I feel these watches would be held back. |

I truly hope that all of the Daytona sales are not based on that. My local is only a small AD so I guess they are not going to get as many as the big boys but relatively I spend a lot of my money with them, ok not a £25k watch but a lot over the years, moonwatch, Sub, DJ 41 etc so I would be annoyed if one person came in and bought a gold sub and walked out with one when my name has been on the list for ever! The manager knew I was a serious collector and that I could buy the 18k much cheaper elsewhere so we did a deal. Personally I am glad that AD's are selling the watches to customers and not the grey market which used to be common. I still find it annoying that they don't just sell to anybody local. |

I have known Simon for many years, He must have 40 watches , He defo has done the deal. I have seen his wifes watch its bloody lovely 18k 28mm ladies dj with a beautiful diamond dial . I was told by my AD who I have known for 25 yrs , Rolex are encouraging them to only try and sell hard to get pieces with a significant purchase, This defo falls into the category spelt out to me a Ladies 18k will allow you too buy a Ceramic 500 , I know what else S is working on so he will be back with another 500 shortly. hth |

There can be few members who would benefit more than I if there were a UK price rise, or who might have more to gain by creating any excitement that one might be imminent.
I am not expecting one. One thing which should be made clear to those who keep raising it : the calendar timing of previous rises and the length of time since the last rise are absolute irrelevances. A rise will likely take effect on the 1st of a month, most commonly when currencies (specifically GBP / SFr) and / or commodity prices have been at an insufferable level for any sustained period. If this situation was replicated for something like an electronic piece of equipment, I think the manufacturers wouldn't care about the financial disparity as they would be selling everything they could produce, sheer volume would soon make up a slight loss in profit per unit.
It would be interesting to see figures if Rolex just kept punting SS sports watches into the UK. If some of the stories about London AD numerous calls per day and walk ins asking for watches is true, they would be laughing at the minute |

I went to my AD last Monday to drop my TOG off for warranty work, enquired about an Air King, which they hadn't in stock, I got a call this morning, they just had one delivered, it's mine if I want it. They are holding this for me till Saturday. It will be a long week!
