This COULD be the same watch. Maybe the Pepsi from your boutique was sold by the buyer to David.

I had such disparaging experience recently with AD. I'll even call them out. Tourneau in VA, Edward Arthur in MD, Govberg(who now is more of an enterprise than your friendly watch store - watch out what you say or you will be blackballed - pun intended), Meierotto in MO, and on and on. I've bought watches from all of them. Sold some back too. Their level of greed is unspoken and to be read between the lines. It's no different than our friendly grey dealers on here except their demands are up front vs the AD in no uncertain terms are asking that you buy PM or low volume like TT watches in order to be in their inner circle.

I get the pay to play phenomenon since I just did it, but I would rather pay my taxes up front, when I want to, and for what I want to on, rather than play the mind games that AD like to proffer.
I entirely agree with you. I bought my Daytona grey and I don't regret it. Easier to buy grey then spend a fortune on watches you don't want and then have to flip at a loss. Different if you want those watches but if you don't, its money down the drain.

Congratulations on the Pepsi.

Silly comment. No such thing, never too much money. And this contributes nothing to the thread. Whether you think he overpaid or not is irrelevant. It's his money and $20k may not be anything to him, as it seems from the tone of your comment that it may be for you.

Congrats to the op, it seems he's had a wild ride with crappy ADs lately. $20k is worth my piece of mind vs the hassle and stress of waiting and being treated like a third class peasant for wanting to buy a $10k watch in 2018.

Congrats to David for another speedy transaction.

I personally lose interest in something I have to pay double for to own. Be it a Rolex, Patek, AP, Ferrari or Hermes bag. I don't mind a premium but I do draw the line as to how far I will go. If I have to pay too much it takes the joy out of ownership for me. That being said, it's your money.. Take those stickers off and enjoy!

I wonder what the customer at the head of the list at this particular AD
that hasn't got his new Pepsi yet, thinks about this?

Who IS the AD, and what do Rolex think, I wonder?

Waiting lists, warranty cards, stickers.......Ha ha ha.

Oh, nearly forgot. Congrat's mate, nice watch.

The numbers on this watch are going to be higher than expected, I think the new models are one reason why supplied dried up. I would not be jumping at this much above retail personally but I hope you enjoy it!

I have it on good authority that OP made a deal with Rolex before buying the watch to sell them a picture of the warrantee card for $12,000 so they could track its history. So there's that!

Congrats OP. As I say to my wife, "If you're happy, I'm happy."
