My choice would be the YM Blue. If you go Sub get a real Sub not the one with the date. There is just something special about the uninterrupted crystal of the 114060.

9 out of 10 people would get the sub (me included) but if you have a strong pref for the YM then go for it.
The YM is a bit awkward, not quite a sports watch and not quite a regular watch either. I’d buy a pre-owned RG YM with an Oysterflex bracelet. They definitely got that one right. |

I tried both on hands and felt YM case hugs better on my wrist so my vote goes to it.. Both are excellent watch so go with the one that sings you more. Cant go wrong with either one. Even better, get both if ur budget allows!

I always dismissed the YM as well based on looks and popularity. About a month ago I walk into the AD and there it was, the blue dial YM sitting in the display. Decided to try it on and wow, it actually blew me away. The dial was gorgeous and it wore so perfectly and flat.
I almost emailed DavidSW that night to see if I could work out a trade between my sub date for the blue dial YM. However, in the end I just couldn’t do it. I wanted to keep at least 1 ceramic bezel in my collection and YM just can’t compare to the sub’s versatility. Maybe one day I will have one but the sub wins, for now.

I have a 114060 and a blue 116622. I don't know that I could decide between the 2. The sub is the more classic and versatile piece, and would definitely be the majority's choice. Probably a better everyday wearer too if thats the plan. Definitely the Sub over the Sub Date though.
I love the YM too, the two compliment each other well. I'm surprised it hasn't become more popular...I would guess it will. If you want a piece thats a little louder, a little slimmer, and a little more unique, go with the YM. Can't go wrong with either in my eyes.

Actually have both with me since I'm heading to Chicago for a work trip and they are in the watch roll. So here's a pic from just now:
