I inherited my first when I was 25, when my father died. The first one I bought was at 28. Sold it relatively quickly (I'm just not a Submariner guy). Have bought and sold a few since. I turn 35 end of December.

Bought my bluesy when I was 23. My landscaping company had a great month and treated myself to my grail watch. I thought it would be my first and last watch.....

30 yrs old for the 1st, 43 yrs old for the 2nd and 53 yrs old for the 3rd. Gotta do something to shorten the interval of adding new watches. Lots of enablers on TRF so I think I have a cure for my slowness to pull the trigger.

Here's my Rolex history in a nutshell. I purchased a used sub-date when I was 24 in 1995Sold it shortly after. I then purchased a used Sea-Dweller in 2005 and sold it shortly after. I am now 43, I have a 2015 SubC that I truly hope never leaves me or my family, because after all the years I've owned a Rolex, I can now really appreciate the meaning of a special time piece.

Charts! CHARTS!!! Because... who doesn't like charts?

I inherited my 6205 from my father at the age of 55.

Here are the charts of the 130 respondents thus far; the chart on the left is percentage of total by how respondents' first watch was acquired. (If you assume that the "Not Specified" folks purchased theirs, then "Purchasers" would total just under 74%.)

The second chart shows percentages by age first attained.

So... yeah. I had a few minutes to kill. ;)

I was 26 when I bought my 16014 (from my birth year 1986)

I just bought my 2nd, a 16570 at 29 as an early gift for my coming 30th birthday because it is in a great shape and I got it for a good price so I did not want to wait (we all need an excuse anyway )

When I was younger buying a Rolex would mean you have made it in the world. Worn by IMO mostly older men in the business world. I wonder how many people that responded have purchased in the last 10 years as it has become more popular to own Rolex then it was when I was young.
