I also think it should be the other way around. My Wife works in high end expensive sales and it's quite common for her to send an email or call the client a few days later making sure they are happy and enjoying their purchase.

On occasion she's even gone as far as to send them a bunch of flowers as a thank you for going via her to get the items.

Bought at retail. First time coming in. Got the watch in 1 month from an email and phone call. There is hope out there for all of us!

I am in Charlotte and will buy your pappy and describe to you since you won't drink! Will even trade for a box of pappy cigars:)

Bought the staff pizza. $40. Gave the owner a hand written note and a nice bottle of champagne. Total spent only about $100.

When I picked up my last watch (not a Rolex), I came back from Brussels and gave the sales representative a box of Belgian chocolates. The gesture was received very well, nice to share with her colleagues.

I would ask the AD (manager) prior to sending any specific gifts to the SA directly.

Sometimes a tiny gesture might work the opposite depending on where you are in world (might look like a tip especially if its a gift card, etc.) especially when you received a hot model with no prior history.

In any situation, a box of chocolate or something shareable amongst the entire AD staff may be better.

Good on you OP! A nice gesture is always appreciated. I think that a lot of people on here lose sight of this because it’s mistakenly seen as ass kissing because we’re talking about the almighty Rolex. I’ve bought things for the good people at Omega before for no reason other than that they’re good people and always treat me very nicely. I bought my truck from a kid who was a few months away from getting married and I gave him a wedding card with $100 inside.
A nice gesture shouldn’t have strings attached to them.

If I had said no I’m sure it wouldn’t have lasted another hour. So I do feel very fortunate.

100%! It’s a little messed up that we consider ourselves lucky to be granted the opportunity to plunk down 10k+ on a wrist watch, but that is Rolex for you!

If you're doing gifts, something like a diamond tennis bracelet, or diamond Cartier love bracelet would suffice. Don't give her a plain gold Cartier. Don't forget the manager and store owner as well, cause ultimately she had to get their permission.
Just buy them all a house no mortgage

It is insane but there is a huge difference in retail and market price. Not many items you can buy and walk out of the store with an item worth at least 50 percent more then what you just paid. If it was a car you would lose 25 percent the second you drove off of the lot.

Thanks brother sharing is caring . If this is the only watch they ever offer me I will still feel grateful for the opportunity. I don’t regret being nice to a business. I’m a business owner myself.

I got a special watch for a special milestone. Saved me thousands as I was going to get the Hulk on the grey if anything. I just threw a dart and got lucky.

I think this is the best option you went with. Who knows maybe you might get a call for a daytona or Pepsi in the coming weeks.

It’s a crazy world.
In exchange for something that he could immediately turn around and sell for at least $5k more with minimal effort? Yeah, it is crazy.

You can get a Schrambsberg Blanc de Blancs for roughly that, and it's good enough to serve it at the White House...not French, but neither are we, right?

Pappy is horrible. I have the 10yr, 20yr, and 23yr, and I've got to say they're all fairly horrible. Luckily I have some decent connection at a large local retailer so I was able to get mine a very near the MSRP.

Hey,

Did you by chance buy some jewelry, maybe a fairly expensive engagement ring through them? I'm a diamond manufacturer and actually supply them every now and then, and I've had people who would buy a fairly expensive ring for their gf from retailers like Deutsch, and then the retailer allows the gf to purchase a watch like the Batgirl for the guy. Or was your case truly a random "cold call" that worked?
