I remember a youtube comment about the diamond on platinum watches and how pretentious it is. I think its as classy as it gets and as someone who isnt into diamonds/gems on dials/bezels i love looking down and seeing it between the lugs.

Why would it be pretentious? That’s a weird take from whoever posted that on their video. It’s simply a way for Patek to subtly, and I’d say classily, distinguish their platinum watches. I think it’s a super cool touch. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I love this. At the time I wanted a 5270 the dealer teased me with the salmon Pt. It would be a 2 year wait apparently, this one is for someone else. They lost their AD and I found this. At the time, the only clean dial 5270 which really appealed to me. Now we have that in the stunning new Pt.
I’m just not a huge fan of grey dials or grey in general but I just about give it a pass given it has a brush texture like the advanced research 5550p. Whilst this appears more white than grey most of the time I have to admit to thinking about swapping it for the salmon Pt, a lot recently. This is not classic Patek. In fact its quite far removed from its predecessors. I think it was a big gamble for T.S, maybe one of his first big launches for PCC. I quite like that, a group of people deliberated on the 001 for quite some time, what should a new PCC look like. I think they got there eventually with the latest Pt which is phenomenal, although missing the american typewriter font I've always loved on Patek, the use of Arial really is new age. I'm searching for a classic 3970r so I'm happy with this for balance. |
