I wear any watch in my collection to work. That’s everything from my cheapest Casio to Rolex, AP and PP.

Today was the turn of my Rolex Explorer II

At the risk of inciting the flex weirdos, here’s a shot of one of my watches while driving another of my vehicles and in this case, my “work” vehicle lol…

how about you guys?
If you're in tech sales and your boss wears a Tag they think they know a thing or two about watches - speaking from experience not baseless assumptions.
It'll be noticed for sure...but do you care?
It depends what function you're in IMO, you don't want the wrong attention.

I do - and most people don't take notice at all. But, there's always that one guy that calls me out every time he sees me wearing a different/new timepiece.

Yes why not? Why buy watches, Rolex, and be concerned, what co-workers feel about you.
Most don’t care, some know I collect, others will say nice watch….But surprisingly there are only 1/2WIS in my 400 staff local office …+ 4 more might have Cartier, Rolex… beyond that clueless I think, but they do notice bling.

One has to be comfortable in office.

Now with some clients, I might be a bit concious, but usually it never stops me from wearing my collection.

I used to wear my 16710 to work when I was in the office but now I'm out on the facility floor (FedEx) dealing with Hazmat drums. Its the Casio G-Shock for me now at work.

Our CEO doesn't wear a Rolex (some sort of Garmin watch I believe he wears) but all his direct reports including me do. I ride him all the time to get some sort of mechanical watch, and he wants one, but he says it would look bad. I always tell him "bro everyone already knows your rich" :):)

"Bro"?? To the CEO? Well at least you didn't use the more familiar "Brah."

Or at least you didn't say, "Bruv".......

I'm retired now, but when I was working up to just a couple of years ago, I was regularly meeting with clients who were incredibly heavy hitters (C-Suite executives of some of the nation's largest companies). I never felt comfortable wearing my Rollies, or using my Montblanc pens, or getting dropped off or picked up by black sedans, for that matter.

Many of my colleagues did that, but I always thought doing this was bad form.

I never wanted a client to think, "this guy is over-paid" or to think I was a spendthrift, so I always wore a simple watch, used a simple BIC pen, showed up in a taxi or Uber, and when having dinner with a client, ordered a simple, inexpensive menu item, and let them pick the wine.

Doing all this served me well for decades!

Current CEO wears a nice all metal G-Shock.

Former CEO wore Patek.

When I was at Goldman Sachs a Rolex watch was considered "entry level." :) Our CEO was Lloyd Blankfein and he wore a Swatch. At least he did the time I saw him on the trading desk. I guess he didn't get the memo.

One day the market was making wild swings and the bond trading desk was down to about half strength courtesy of the flu. Lloyd came in, threw his suit jacket over a chair back, and started answering phones, making trades. This was where he started with Goldman so he felt right at home.

"No, this isn't Jimmy. He's out sick. I'm Lloyd. I'm looking to move two hundred thousand O&Y May '25s. You interested?"

Wow, that must have been sick! Did Jimmy show up next day? Was his book in the green? I guess Lloyd was happy to be back trading, like a flashback from the time he was young! Would have been really sick if 15 min into trading he took off the swatch and put on a heavy oldschool gold Rolex from his trading days, started pranking people on the desk and harrasing junior traders! Swatch is for CEO-Floyd, trader Lloyd wears a gold Rolex! Trader Lloyd is baaaaaaack!:))

P.S. Everyone on my desk wore Panerai. PAM was like a part of the uniform, but everyone had a different ref.

I never thought twice about wearing my watch to work. It's my way of telling time. Everyone has a vice. Most can afford a Rolex if they gave up a fraction of their vice. :)

I've NEVER believed in the 'boss' rules for the workplace. I'll wear a Rolex and whip his ass at golf or any other sport. If he gets butthurt . . . so be it!

Back in the office full time and my black Daytona C is always on my wrist. Works perfect with business dress. Flies under the radar for the most part and is only noticed by the right clients, aka individuals that know watches and have money to do business with!

No

I'm a cabbie in an area where people do try to attack and rob us... one guy was killed a few years back.

Also, doesn't help your chance of a tip if you're carrying a few £K on your wrist.

:)

I do not. I am on construction sites and the risk of banging it into everything puts the fear of God into me.

I also take the NYC subway to parts of the city where brave men fear to tread (including myself) and do not want to draw any unwanted attention.

For me, it's a ten year old Orvis on a Nato while at work.
