This is an unfortunate situation for the OP.

Life is so much easier when you have been told that you are about 6th or 7th on the list and you might get offered one this year, you might not! No stress about being number 1 on the list and I'm being realistic that others will be offered a watch long before me. In reality, how many others will be offered one before me, only the AD knows so I'm not stressing about things.

Next week I am going to a friend of my wife's funeral. She was just 39 when she died and has left 5 and 15 year old sons. Worrying about who gets a watch before me is extremely low on my priorities at the moment. We all need reality checks at times and this is mine!

The guy who had it before OP might have bought nine PM pieces and three PPs in the last year. Or maybe he's the manager's best mate/sparring partner/priest/social worker, etc. I imagine every AD has several people at No. 1 on their list.

Sounds like the store has more than one, "number one list".

I call BS on the OP...doesn't make a lick of sense and why when he called on Monday didn't he pursue the issue further.

This exact thing happened to me too, except back when the BLNR came out. I told them how disappointed I was but ended up buying the next one that came in (that as luck would have it was full of QC issues).

When I spoke with my sales associate, I was promised that I was number one. I made sure she double checked with her manager and any other sales associate so that there was no confusion. I have purchased about 8 PM pieces in the last 12 months including two PPs, so I'm definitely one of their best, if not favorite clients.
I was told that I did not need to put down a deposit, but I put down $1k because I felt that putting down money solidified our "agreement." The agreement was that I would get the first black dial Daytona C to arrive at the store, with the option to buy a white dial if that came first.

I've seen all of these incomings the last couple of weeks and have not heard from them and started to get a little suspicious.

So Saturday morning as I was waiting for a friend at breakfast, I noticed the guy at the table next to me was wearing a black dial Daytona C, and he had a bag from my AD at the table! I asked him about the piece and after a couple minutes of chatting, he revealed that he had indeed purchased it from them!!! He showed me his warranty card and yep, their store name was on it!
I called the store on Monday to ask about the status of my watch and they said "We are still waiting to receive the first one."

I'm mixed with emotions right now and not sure what I should do. Part of me is turned off from this whole deal and the other part feels like a long standing business relationship is done. The other part of me feels this is just a watch and there are much more important things in life, get over it lol.
Just possibly he purchased even more from them than you did?

Relax guys it's not like OP started this thread last week. It's not even 24hrs old! He's been on here over 1 year so I don't see why he would be trolling like this.

Did not read the entire thread but seems like you may not be one of their best or favorite clients after all

I'd like to know what the deposit receipt says. He surely had his terms stated in writing when he left $1K with his AD.

sounds like breach of contract to me if they said "you will get the first one" but it's not my state so i can't really say

what it for sure is, though, is despicable
