Under more ambient natural light is where one sees the softer lilac tones People seem to want to expose the bezel to strong direct light and say, "Look, it is more pink and purple just like MK I" It could be MK II skews more brightly in this direction under direct sun than MK I. The MK I signature is more soft pastel blue and a duller red in indirect conditions, that never completely goes away, in any light. It is certainly not a glowing bright pink and purple watch. MK II indoors, much more pure blue and brighter red. |

Why do people care about this again? It’s a stainless steel watch that the average person could care less for. Unless of course you daily your Fitbit or apples Hermès watch while the watch sits in the coffin

You're on a Rolex watch forum. What do you expect people to discuss?

Without reading through the entire thread, is there anyone on here who believes they own both versions?
Do us all a favour would you and pop down to your local print shop and have them measure the bezels with a spectrophotometer. That'll settle it once and for all. |

Maybe he will go, it could be interesting to know the numbers but how will that settle anything? We know there are two versions already. The question is more judging from photos, which is proving very illusive. It would be useful to test and show an individual watch though. Looking at the hunterlab.com website, there are different types of these devices for different purposes. This page seems the most applicable https://www.hunterlab.com/blog/color...rophotometers/ |

This is more than enough proof, even though I didn’t need it to know there was a difference. Straight from a Rolex watchmaker, move on folks |

So what's the takeaway here? MK1 Dial is brighter/colors pop more? Vs. Mk2 dial the colors are darker? I hear we are on Mk3 now...what's the consensus on those?

. I still think there's just general "batch effects". Some MK3s appear to look like an MK2 to me. Yet, my BLRO looks most definitely like a MK2 most of the time, but in clean light can also look like strikingly like an MK1. |

In all the time this thread had been going, no-one has provided a good quality side by side photo of these two alleged BLRO's.
In fact I'm assured there is now a mk3 to make matters even more confusing. Now before I get a load of hate mail just understand I'm not saying there aren't different variations of the bezel, I've just yet to be shown definitive proof. Sent from my SM-G960F using Tapatalk |

Wait a minute. There's a Mk 4. That looks like a cross between a Mk 1 + 2.

The crazy thing is, as a BLRO GMT owner, I don't trust this pic (or similar ones) at all. Sensors and light sources make a huge play... just look at the GMT hands in that pic as proof of that point. Are we going to say there is MK1, MK2, and MK3 Pepsi GMT hands now too?
Frankly, I am more inclined to believe there are probably darker variants more than anything. For all the hate that is going to come... |

I think there are very few who don’t believe there are variances in the colors. What confuses me is the MK1,2,3 ... Perhaps we are all just saying the same thing in a round about way but it appears as though recent incomings have reverted back to the MK1 insert |

Imagine being named Mark and owning a BLRO, then having some random WIS asking which mark bezel you have.

BLRO mk1 & mk2
Now MK1 owners have to pray a big shot celebrity like Paul Newman wears an Mk1 so their watches will be worth $100k in about 30 years. OR they can just wear it and enjoy it (not keeping it in a safe) and stop trying to convince the world that the mk1 is going to be the rarest Rolex. Isn’t it exhausting?
