I’m too narcissistic to be aware of other people.

Yeah, at least once daily. Gets to a point that sometimes in conversations, people who I'm talking to at work know what it is and their eyes travel down my arm to my wrist. Have had to put my hands in my lap under the desk to discourage it.
It was neat in the beginning, but that was 13 years ago. Not some much these days and I only wear SS. No PM's. |

I've actually had the most comments when I've been out at the pub on a night out, I instantly reply that it's fake just so if stops the conversation dead.
Two work colleagues noticed it on different occasions and turned out they were WIS so had a lengthy conversation with them. |

Never. But I never comment on anyone else’s either. Usually people who do comment are wearing an expensive watch as well and wants you to notice theirs.

Many people have commented on my watches, especially my TT DJ 41. I think the “people don’t notice” applies mostly to SS sports.

Very rarely, I do find that people enjoy when I compliment on theirs. Usually sparks a nice conversation.

Most watches I own, no.
My rose gold DaytonaC on OF, all the time. My platinum Day-Date, frequently. More often than I’d think considering it’s a white metal. All of my others? Not often at all unless it’s another watch nerd like us. |

No. In my years of wearing Rolex, I’ve only had three comments.

Public : not really (though some people glance and I think they notice it’s Rolex)
Friends : some who know about watches Personally I would prefer to have my watch unnoticed, as I feel safer that way. Thus I wear my GMT LN more often than hulk. |

As you say, we always take a look at people's wrists because we love watches… But by doing so, do we allow ourselves to "disturb" the person for a comment ? I don't think so, so that's what we clearly get back too. For many years that I wear different watches, I have never had a remark. In everyday life and in all situations, I noticed a few looks, that's all.

Yes, once. Whilst walking through a busy shopping street, I heard one guy close to me giving the Cliff Notes version on the speedy to his buddy walking next to him.

Do not personalize in a city. I've had a hard time in some city in the United States because I wasn't safe, but that doesn't mean the whole country is the same. Peru and Lima are wonderful, and their people are very hospitable |

Yes.
When I wear my DJ41 it literally pops with glimmer and shine. Today, my wife, our baby, and I, went to a coffee house. We sat at a table and I noticed a couple of different people glaring at my watch. |

Of all of my watches, only my DJII Azzurro blue dial gets any attention.

Only once. A very attractive lady at a Banana Republic store commented on my Yacht-Master while I was signing the receipt. She was wearing a DateJust that looked perfect on her. We had a nice conversation about our mutual interest in watches.
But other than that....nothing. Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk |
