I first saw Army General Schwarzkopf wearing two watches during the first Gulf war. It looked appropriate and cool, too.... and in my book that was acceptable. If I'm not mistaken he had a Seiko diver and a Casio.

A bit ridiculous unless for a purpose such as diving or something similar where it's really used, and not for show.

A man with one watch will always know the time, A man with two watches will always be in doubt.

Going past Customs and not wanting to pay Customs duties has been the only time(s) for me, obvious complementary equipment being a long-sleeved shirt. Other than that I believe it's beyond good taste.

I can only tell you that if you are missing an arm I would only wear one watch. I would hate to have to watches rubbing on each other getting scratched.

Never visibly, unless you are in the privacy of your own home or you are at a GTG.

Etiquette calls, for one wearing more than one Rolex on the street, to wear a suitable full-length overcoat for protecting all the watches worn from disapproving glances by the police and other casual passersby. I am not sure how this might apply to the common wearer, but most of the 'roving ADs' in NYC and DC follow this protocol. Alternately, they don't always wear the watches, but choose to display them in special carrying cases, typically supported by folding legs. To each his/her own.

If you plan on flying your personal plane into another timezone where you come to an abrupt halt in a large body of water and are then forced to swim home...its okay. Otherwise......not cool in the least bit....
