What else would "rattly" be referring to, if not the bracelet?

Thank God we don't all like the same thing or there would just be one single style Rolex for everyone.

he might just have Sub C envy for all we know....he could be stuck with the older Non Date version?!?[/QUOTE]

i bet his doesnt even have crown guards, pos....

seriously, rolex (and even just the sub, specifically) really does seem to have something for eveyone...

actually, now that i think about it, they dont really have something for me - as i would prefer a mix of the current bracelet, clasp and dial, but the old lug shape case...

There are a cheap waterproof watches that cost less than $300 that do at least what the Sub does.

A dive computer, the most expensive of which costs about a quarter of what you'd pay for a new Rolex Sub, does things like monitoring your depth, and can tell you when to stop on ascent for decompression. Ten years ago, the higher-end dive computers might have been more expensive, and the sub was certainly cheaper, but the computer was still cheaper than the Sub, and performed safety functions that the Sub simply doesn't.

A Swiss watch is purely an aesthetic choice. If you want to impress people with your tools, you should sell your watch and buy a bunch of chainsaws.
Thanks for the lecture on diving. I guess since you are the expert, I am going to change my total diving technique and start diving by your standards. Do you have any other tips for me??

BTW, in my hundreds of dives over the last several years, I have never once had someone recognize my mechanical timepiece. You must not dive because everyone is WAY TOO busy on a dive boat to worry about someone else's kit. I wear my watch for my own safety.....not for anyone else.

Agree, I read the whole thread and saw it ended up being both, so maybe $1500+ nowadays is likely....that must have hurt

Are you ok....what are reading....

I simply stated better design and materials as my quote indicates. Somehow you locked on bracelets like a pit bull, I made no connection between bracelets and materials.

Rattly bracelet doesn't have a dang thing to do with the metal/material used, that's a characteristic of construction, i.e.. hollow center links, end links, and stamped clasp. Goodness gracious...

Where the bracelet is concerned my better would refer to the "design" part of my quoted statement. Can't be more clearer than that.

does it really matter, at this point, what someone meant by specifics of their opinion - its their opinion, there will be no winning the back and forth here.

So what DID your comment regarding "better materials" refer to? You have been avoiding this...

Trust me, if the Sub C was something I wanted - I would own it.

If you are referring to a Submariner (which is what I own by the way), then no - I'm not "stuck" with anything. All you Sub C owners are the Submariner DATE owners...I own a Submariner however.

who cares, check the rolex website for the new materials featured in the modern professional line, it's common knowledge at this point. if you don't know, just hang around and read more threads.
I know exactly why I bought mine.

Unlike gloss ceramic bezel inserts and polished links, white gold hour surrounds and hands were added for a purpose, not for show.

Why - because non-WIS will have that much harder of a time realizing that YOU own a Rolex...?

That's why AP, Omega, Panerai, etc have begun to use ceramics...just for show, unbelievable.

i think you over analyze things....

i just think the submariner looks weird without the cyclops date feat. Too plain and like i said before, IMO looks incomplete. Has zero to do with what other people realizing what i am wearing.
