For me it’s the simple things that bring the most joy. I’ve got my dream girl next to me and one of the best 4 legged best friends I’ve ever known laying like a puppy in between my legs. They’re both snoring and I couldn’t be happier knowing their lives are maybe just a little better because I am in it and mine is substantially better because they are in mine.

My son has been working in Jersey City and for the last couple of years, couldn't get back to the UK because of the pandemic. He is now getting back for a week in the beginning of May, I have missed him so much, although he is 45, he's still my boy. Not normally emotional but I was today, this has been a ray of brilliant news after a string of bad. I'm over the moon.

My better half and I have a wedding to go to in June. We have to go to Chicago for the weekend. My dog has pretty severe abandonment issues and is very much about his daily routine. His issues have pretty much curtailed any traveling beyond a day trip for us since we rescued him. I have been stressing myself out about leaving him, he would not be able to handle a kennel and I don’t trust just anyone at my house.

Well, a few weeks ago I found out one of my guys wife is a vet tech and dog sits for a very small clientele. I asked him to put her in touch with me. They came over yesterday @ 4, went to dinner with us and didn’t go home for 5 hours (this was originally just going to be a quick meet and greet so we could figure out if they connected). She fell in love with my dog and he adores her, my better half loves them (she even told me I made the right decision) and I feel incredibly comfortable now. It was such a great evening that we will be doing it again a few more times between now and June.

I know with everything going on in the world I probably shouldn’t have stressed about my dog as much as I did, now that stress has been replaced with good vibes and I am actually looking forward to the next time they come over.

If the weekend goes well this could potentially make the little weekend trips we used to take together possible again and I won’t be worried the whole time about the dog.

Oh yeah. When leaving dinner the owner pulled me aside and said “You look like Mel Gibson!” (I hope she was taking about him 30 yrs ago) I said “Nah, more like Jim Carey from Ace Ventura.” So she looks over at another table filled with young (early 20’s), hip, good looking couples and asks them. Somewhere from the table I hear “A better looking Mel Gibson!!”

I’m not the kind of guy that gets compliments about my looks very often, so it made my day as well.

That's really good news. Hey, your dog is part of the family..so of course you'd be stressed about it. Fortunately, it looks like you have a solution now...Phew...! Glad to hear it.
