Eisenkiesel. Is a type of quartz featuring rich red, brown, oranges, and some yellow tone. The name itself actually means “iron pebbles” in German, referring to what makes its distinct veining when iron is exposed to oxygen.

On the DD36 the dial features diamond set roman hour markers instead of baguettes.

+1; green dials are really special on a modern Rolex, and I love the interplay of the green dial with the YG, here. If I didn’t already have (and want to keep) my champ dial DD36 when these arrived on the scene, I’d have been chasing one down. And even though it’s SS and not YG, it’s also why I went after a Hulk instead. You really have a lovely piece, here!
