In the pics below, you can see the longer links are attached to the clasp on either side. Pretty handy as this allows you to size the bracelet precisely, similar to if you have an oyster style clasp with the springbar adjustments where the link attaches to the clasp, but more aesthetically pleasing for this style of bracelet. You can see I have one extra link on the 6:00 side of the bracelet. This puts the clasp off center on the bottom of my wrist. Due to the freedom of articulation where the links can fold back on each other, I don't notice at all while on the wrist. Sorry, I didn't mean to be imprecise! I don't know if it's 1.25 or 1.33 - point is it's larger than a normal link and smaller than a normal + a half. I use one on mine at the moment...

Now worries I'm just guessing I wasn't sure if they changed things up a bit between the Terre Adelie and Passage de Drake. I hadn't seen anything on other internet write-ups so that's why I included the info and pics for other potential buyers. I just think it's awesome that they put a lot of thought into the design and the parts and packaging accompanying the watch. Since there are very few ADs a customer can take their watch to for adjustments, everything is included in the box to get a perfect fit, and it can be done by the customer, or a local watchmaker if desired.

Congratulations on getting this beautiful green dial Czapek. The swirl flows so elegantly around the entire dial. It’s a show stopper for sure! |

The bracelet wears very comfortably, but definitely feels more svelte than an Oyster bracelet. I cut my rubber strap to size, a bit big to accommodate wrist swelling as I plan to wear it mostly in the summer or when traveling to warm destinations. The rubber is firmer, less pliant and thicker than other straps I've used such as Everest straps for my Explorer. I've only worn it for a day that way, we'll see how it breaks in over time. As it's pretty easy to remove and reapply the clasp on the rubber strap, I'm thinking of getting a second strap in a different color to change things up. For now I have grey, I may need to get white and/or red down the road. |

Wow that green on gold is amazing, Czapek is knocking them out of the park. Anyone else get the email to send in wrist size for the Fratello colab watch?

So i tried on the Antarctique Rattrapante. What an amazing watch. Seeing the Chrono operate live on the dial is just so cool. Also i was pleasantly surprised how small it wore even though its 42.5mm in diameter and 15mm thick. It wears very similar to the standard Antarctique. Here are some photos on my 17.5 cm wrist.

The Antarctique is a real winner. Yes, its an integrated steel luxury sports watch, but its very different than an AP (more comfortable) and a Nautilus (more svelte). I don't think this is captured well in photos (some watches photograph well and then underwhelm in person - this is the opposite of Czapek!)

Faubourg de Cracovie in rose gold with bespoke green dial
That is a beautiful watch. A great new dial in green. Would make a great companion piece to my Faubourg de Cracovie in rose gold with blue dial.

I am not sure these are going to go up in value.. I did not buy it for that. I really like it and it adds to my watch diversity :)

Czapek
What I like about CZapek is that the product quality is top notch at a fair price and the people involved with the company make you feel like part of the family. I get to enjoy the whole adventure of buying a watch I really like, from a company that cares about what they represent. It is like the old days when buying a new watch felt like a great adventure. Definitely not today's norm.
I completely understand that as Czapek becomes more well known, they may become a brand that will be hard to acquire. This due to the small volume of product produced. I hope as time passes that the company will remain loyal to it's present philosophy about product and customers. |
