As re-sale prices drift up, the supplies to re-sellers will only increase as the lure of quick profits motivates flipping no matter how well intentioned the buyer was in first acquiring the watch. When you can make twice what you paid, more people do crazy things like taking the profit.

My AD told me they know how many hot models they are receiving for the year. They can still put the order in for a watch. But they have been given info on that year’s allocation.

To be fair to the ADs they are in the dark from Rolex in some respects. Especially when watches are arriving.

The watch supply chain has been affected by the pandemic as much as other sectors. If you're a gun enthusiast and you've tried to buy a firearm or ammunition you know what I'm taking about. I've been told Rolex shut down their factories and slowly brought production back up so that will no doubt affect supply.

This is about easy money. Lot of people buying (or looking to buy) a Rolex that they really cannot afford. Notice how every online watch storefront has a checkout option with Affirm?

When the credit dries up, and it will, so will the demand. For greys and authorized dealers.

There’s actually more supply because the stocks in airports got allocated elsewhere.
I actually saw TT SKD & SS DJ41 sunburst lst mth on my local AD.
They were gone the next day of course.
