Here is a story to win loyalty: if a client notices your expensive watch and comments on it, tell them it was a gift from a very wealthy and appreciative client. That will convey that your work is so good, it warranted an expensive gift, and also show that you aren't throwing their fees away on expensive trinkets.

A TT sub or DJ with a black face ;). Seems to being the watch of lawyers. Sub more so for Dr's.

Your 4 choices are quite nicely diverse for so many situations from office to evening to casual weekends and vacationing.

Well done!

Great choices!! If I remember right, you have a 6.5 in wrist and that Grand Reverso Duo looks perfect on your wrist!! I have been thinking about the RG version and was wondering if it may be too big for me - your photo helps a lot!!

Because that's just what I want...a lawyer who lies TO me and not FOR me.

This is the exact reason I went into government. No billable hours. I may only be able to afford a DJ right now, but my time is my own.
Also, they gave me a badge.

Just about any top tier brand has something that would work for you. An AP 15400 would be an excellent choice:

Another would be a Datejust II as others have recommended. That would leave room for you to purchase a second watch - GMT Sub C (many versions would work as a casual dress watch) or even a sub!

You are in a great position my friend

A Datejust would be my choice. Not to ostentatious but speaks class and luxury. I'd go for a white or blue or silver Roman dial DJ in that order of preference.

This is poor advice in my opinion. Depending on what type of law the OP is practicing, accepting a gift of this magnitude could be a serious ethics violation. Additionally, as noted by another poster, lying to a client is never a good idea.

I second the AP. Great looking watch and understated in my opinion. IWC also makes some nice watches that look great with a suit (specifically, the Portuegese Chronograph and 7-Day).

Nothing that would prompt people to think you're charging too much for your services (if you are in private practice) or paid too much (if you're in-house...)

Something that non-WIS would not readily identify as a super-expensive watch.

I'm a private practice lawyer. I wear a TT Sub Bluesy. My mentor wears a black sub date, another lawyer I know wears a stainless DJ. I attended a fundraiser the other night for a district attorney candidate who was wearing a new black dial GMT II.

If a lawyer can afford it, then I say wear whatever the hell you want by Rolex, in any model you desire.

Sub or datejust, I personally wouldn't say gold as it is a bit "flashy" in some people's opinion, even explorer 1 or milgauss

I know this is really old thread, but I am struggling to find where I can buy one of "The Billable Hour" wrist watches. Do you, or anyone have any idea?

Thanks!

Wear it where? To get clients? Something that projects success. Any Rolex is Ok. In a jury trial? A cheaper watch is the wiser choice.
