Submariner maintenance thread?

A co-worker has a SS Sub as a gift and he doesn't have the manual. Is there a previous thread for discussing the proper maintenance for a Submariner or troubleshooting thread, etc?

I will pass this information on to him. Thanks in advance.

Well like every Rolex service is every 5-7 years in normal use,but if watch is used for regular diving etc, then would have a regular pressure check at least once a year.Rolex movements are normally quite bullet proof but a occasional manual wind will keep the power reserve topped up, and keep the tiny amount of oil around the winding stem gears.

How often will the winding stem gears need to be oiled? I dont think he ever dives. Is there a certain oil he should use?

No oil is to be added if he winds watch manually occasionally that will be sufficient to keep the tiny amount of oil around the winding stem gears. If he is not planning to dive then normal service 5-7 years will be fine.
