Thank you so much for this. Richard, quite rightly is one of the God's of the fountain pen world. A man who can weave magic. People like him and John Mottishaw are worth more than their weight in Gold IMHO

Thanks that was a very cool video

It is interesting what he says that a pen "is the most intimate personal accessory". That kind of goes hand in hand with a quality watch IMHO.

Man that guy is busy. I love the line of that pen which is used to write about 1/2 way through the video. The line width variation is incredible.......very stylish.

These guys all have a backlog, they are amazing folks. I know John Mottishaw is about the same.

Richard Binder and John Mottishaw are both good.

If you want to avoid backlog you can catch Richard at pen shows around the US where he can fix on the spot.

If you are looking for someone in Canada, I would recommend Sean Gosse at Pen RX. His web site is www.penrx.ca.

I have no affiliation but have used him on two occasions. He is quicker that Richard or John and I don't have to worry about the border.

I couldn't agree more. I have a 1943 Parker Vacumatic that I bought from Richard that I am in love with. I hardly pick up any of my other pens since this one writes so well.

Tried one at a pen gathering, just fantastic! Are both of yours cursive italic fine?

Thanks Kai. I think they would both just be considered a fine nib not cursive italic. I could be wrong here are some better shots of the nibs. What do you think?

Nice! They look F or EF to me. I believe on the pen with black ink you can write on the reverse side of the nib and it should be EF or EEF.

Kai, you know what I've found interesting(and maybe it's always been true) but I can use the backside of my MontBlancs and write beautifully and create a finer line!!!

Yes I think I would call them both fine. The reverse of the nib is probably Extra Fine.
I think they would both be considered a duo-nib as they write very well with an extremely fine line when using the reverse of the nib.

I sent him my MB 149 a couple of weeks ago. He quoted me 14 weeks. He's "Binderising" it. In the meantime I have my trusty 146, which I've had for 23 years.

There are a couple more nibmeisters in US - Greg Minuskin (http://gregminuskin.com/) and Mike Masuyama (http://www.mikeitwork.com/NibRepair.html)

Both have very good reputation. Their waiting periods aren't that long, around 6 weeks I think.

For folks in UK, that will be John Sorowka in Oxford, but he hates people call him nibmeister, so don't :-)

He worked in the Beverley Hills Rolex Service Centre and was the repair shop supervisor.
