New Guy on the Block
: Hello everyone, I am a new owner of a beautiful brand new Rolex Submariner with Date.
It has been a life long dream of mine to own one and I finally have achieved that dream. What a watch it is. I have never been in a forum before so I really don't know what goes on. I will post some pictures of my Submariner in a few days. Thanks for having me. Coffee King... |

Hello CK and welcome to TRF.
Congratulations on the sub, it's a classic. As for what goes on on this forum, well it's a bit of a free for all with some good hearted leg pulling thrown in. We also respond to serious questions but thankfully there aren't too many of those.

Welcome to TRF, CK. Congrats on realizing a dream with the acquisition of your Sub. That is always a great satisfaction. I waited over 50 years to realize my dream of owning a Rolex. Now I have three, and dreaming of a couple of others. At Thanksgiving, I have a great deal to be thankful for - and not just the watches!
Can't wait to see the photos of your new watch. I hope you enjoy your time here on TRF. You will find no better forum or group of people anywhere.

Hello, CF. Welcome to TRF. Nice choice for a first Rolex. You've got the quintessential sport Rolex. Enjoy that beauty and wear it in good health.
Glad you found our merry little madhouse. If you stick around and join the fun you'll find that we are an irreverent, eclectic bunch. Our primary purpose is to enjoy the company of our fellow TRFers, all of whom are more or less crazy about watches, mostly, but by no means exclusively Rolexes. We welcome all watch lovers. We even tolerate one sheep lover here - he's affectionately known as our BKL mascot. You'll find him popping up about every third post (which is why he has over 2 times more than the next most prolific poster. We also have some very knowledgable members, so between all the jokes and tomfoolery, you will even get some serious questions answered. So stick around and join the fun.

Thanks
Thank you everyone for such a warm welcome, In case your wondering about
my name, it was chosen because I am a Coffee Roastmaster by trade, I roast specialty coffee's in the Northwest. I have been a roaster for 17 years. I am also a Fire Department Safety Officer, and have been a Volunteer Firefighter for 25 years, both jobs keep me very busy. I love boating too, I own a 26' Classic Cruiser, It is a SabreCraft, they were built in the 70's in Tacoma Washington. My wife and I have been restoring it, since she suprised me with it on my 50th birthday. What a surprise, I wanted a boat almost as much as I wanted a Submariner. Now I have both, thanks to my lovely wife. And the really good news is they are both completly paid off. Except if you know that old saying about boats, which is a boat is a hole in the water which you pour money into. Or what we say down at the Marina. Bring! Out! Another!Thousand! So now you know a little about me, Thanks agin for your welcomes, I am looking forward to getting to know you all. Coffee King... |

It appears I am just a few hour drive north of you. Not many of us out on the West Coast on this forum.
