Best of luck Pete. I know the feeling all too well, having been blown out of the water in bidding wars three times in a row, in Toronto.

What part of town?

Best of luck, Pete. However, I will give you the same advice an uncle of mine once gave me.

Anyone who owns a home, deserves it.

Think about that one when you are paying out for plumbing repairs, a new roof, remodeling the kitchen, etc.

Good luck with the purchase Pete. I have never been outbid by a 3rd party but on my current house I went back and forth with the owners (real estate agents actually) about 20 times and had actually told my agent to let the offers expire because they were being unreasonable. In the end I went up $3,000 over what we set as our "maximum" ($13,000 over our original bid) and they came down $34,000 from their original asking price.

They still refer to us as "the people that stole our house."

That's nothing.... when I bought my current house, the owner died during the negotiations... I believe after I told him, via my agent, to 'go feck yourself.'

well on our real estate agents advice we low balled.....Erika and i both didnt agree but we did it anyways. turned out the offer was not even going to be considered so we offered again considerably higher. We really want this house and have no problem paying full asking. lets just say...the house "smiled at us" the most :P

Only if you'd want to kill them from laughter. The moose has to be one of the silliest looking land-animals IMO.

Best of luck Pete, congrats on becoming a home-owner (hopefully!)

Pete, congrats on the new place! Sounds like a good location for your daily commute as good as it gets in the GTA anyways!
Does this mean the next GTG will be at your place???
