Need Help.
Okay, this is my dilemma , I am 36 years old and I want to buy my one and only Rolex. Monday – Friday I wear jeans and t-shirt to work, so I like to buy a sports model. I like YM Platinum, I like SS Sub, but I love the SD (not a fan of DSSD). Please tell me it’s okay to buy an SD over SS Sub or YM platinum even though I will NEVER go diving.

Please be aware that Rolex retains the right to determine which watch you actually purchase and for what reason -

Thank you all for the replies. There's one 2008 M series left at the AD and the last time when I bought a SS sub as a gift for someone else, the AD gave me a 17% discount. Hopefully I will get lucky and get the same kind of discount this time around. MSRP on the SD is $6200

If you never go diving as you say mate then I would get the YM.
Fantastic watch. Dresses down as easily as it does up. Que JJ with his trademark YM pic. |

Go for it. You should get the watch that you love, not the watch other people love. Personally I think the SD is great and would be fine for t-shirt/jeans or business.

Go for it Jason, there is nothing wrong with the SD and it is a great everyday watch, not as flashhhy as the Yachtmaster and about the same as the Sub. Follow your HEART.
hah hah and let up know

I wore an SD for many years - great watch - with one drawback as an "only Rolex" it stands quite proud off the wrist and can interfere with some shirt cuffs. The Sub always fits under a shirt (and looks good with a tuxedo or jeans)

This has been my experience with the SD. Rarely does the SD fit under the cuff of an off the shelf dress shirt. But then again, for another $500 bucks you could buy a weeks worth of custom dress shirts with the cuff totally bespoked for your new SD! Or...roll up your cuffs...it makes you look like you're working harder! Cheers and enjoy what ever you buy!
