Rolex Date Function

Do all Rolex, at least those new edition, comes with smart date function, ie. able to know the different length of the 12 months? Or do I need to manually turn the date monthly?

Nope...none of 'em do. You have to hand set on 28's and 30's. (but you get to fiddle with your watches so that is a plus...I LOVE February!)

All Rolex watches with date feature are manual, and to have such a like you call it smart date complication would add quite a big price rise.

You're looking for either a perpetual calendar (accounts for leap years, 30 vs 31 days, etc) or an annual calendar (perpetual minus the leap year). No, Rolex does not make 'em that 'smart' I do think they should, as I bet it would be a stunner!

I'd love to help you, but I don't know, because I can't afford one with a date!

For an extra $100 Rolex will install a microchip that will take care of the date setting for those months that have a different number of days in it. Didn't you guys spring for that extra perk? It really changed my whole life!!

Back when I was single, my SD didn't prevent me from going out on lots of really stupid dates.

Sure wish it had had that "Smart Date" feature....

Patek's Perpetual Calendar line are all this smart, but they'll also put you in the poor house

Yes they start from around $45000 up to around $350000 depending on complications. I can managed the 15 seconds or so it takes 5 times a year to manually set it no problem.

Put in that context, I would gladly set my watches' dates myself!

Maybe I should have bought a date instead of a Rolex?

Yes, set manually. I sometimes reset my 2nd and 3rd time zone just to play around with the crown
