GMTIIC has a new friend...

Just arrived today... 312K

After several Rollies, it's time to try something different. When I started looking my Panerai criteria was:

1. Sandwich dial
2. Exhibition back
3. Automatic movement

The 312 fit the bill perfectly with the P.9000 Manifattura movement an added bonus.. 3 hours w this watch and it is everything I hoped it would be.

The OEM straps on the other hand. I can only wear them on the last hole. Frustrating but strap options are what make the PAM IMO.

Few pics w GMTIICs new friend:

Extremely large wrists you have.... if you barely make it to the last hole.

Congrats on the 312, a stunning companion to the IIC for sure!

Congrat!

Great one. Enjoy it.
I had SS GMT2c and other rolexes, love them too, but since Thanksgiving, I bought first PAM - 88, then last week - 328, haven't touch rolexes yet!

Wow - on the last hole - you must have massive wrists.

You are correct that the beauty of the PAM is the endless selection of straps. Have a look at some aftermarket straps, as there are several strap makers that make extra long straps. If that still doesn't work for you, lots of strap makers will do custom made.

Congrats on your first PAM - the collection only gets bigger from here.

Cheers,

Eric

Congrats on the 312

Agreed, the stock length straps are too short.130/80 would habeen better for most.

congratulations!

The 312 is nice. I like the new 359 but the full shiny caase & bezel is not as nice as the brushed 312 case and polished bezel.

I have to agree with Saif. When you think of 1950 case, you think of the brushed case and polished bezel. I don't think the 359 all polished look is that appealing on this particular case.

Very nice choice.

My wrist is not big (71/2) but even the standard strap on my 231 is a bit on the short side.

Chris will help you out with the size of the straps that you need.

Nice watch, though I'm guessing he meant the inner-most hole, based on how he has it depicted in photos and that he has no extra links on his GMT.

nice 312

i am wondering if you can comment on the size between the GMT IIc and 312?

i have small-ish wrist but the GMT IIc fits great and i really like the fit and size (while i had it).

i wonder if 312 would be too big for my wrist size (local AD doesn't have one to try on yet)

Hmmm..how to answer this. I thought my Titanium Omega SMP was massive and heavy when I first got it. The PO was bigger...and the Grand Carerra bigger still. Now that I am used to wearing larger 44mm watches, the GMTIIC feels small and I wish Rolex large outside of the DSSD.

Your best bet is to find a friend w a 44mm and trade for a week.
