milgauss gv & GMTIIc

Hi all,

I've almost made my mind up on which to buy but before I do I'm very interested on everyone's opinions on the Milgauss GV and the GMTIIc S...

or

Please post your comments on both watches, what you prefer between the two, post any pics you have, any info on the history of both watches and also if you have any side comparrisons/reviews.

I know there are many great posts about both watches on this forum but i'd really love to see some new comments and pictures side by side. I hope you can help me choose between these two great watches.

I also copied this post in the review section

Many thanks,

Jon

Out of the 2 I would rather the GMT2c, don't care for the green glass. I do have a black dial Mil that I like but have thought of selling it for a GMT2c. You'll have to decide. Do you need a GMT function? Do you have to have a date like so many? The only thing I don't like about the Mil is the clasp.

GMTIIC has the Supercase, Milgauss does not, do you want the larger one, or the original sized case. Just one more point to think about. Good luck with whatever you choose, both are excellent choices.

The Milgauss may not have the Maxi case, but it does have a Faraday cage which makes it heftier than the others.

I would choose the Milgauss because you won't run into another one out in the wild.

Both watches have their champions and both have their own unique history. I suppose the GMT has the advantage of heritage due to it's use by pilots and it's use by military/astronaut personel.

Versatility would favor the GMT with it's date function and of course multi-zone capability, but the Milgauss offers a unique look is really striking.

Here's a few pics of a black Gauss and the GMT IIc for comparison.

Of course if you want green.....

I have never had a Milgauss on my wrist but they do look very sharp and a white dial would be my preference, and i also like the lightening second hand. The GMT IIc is a nice all round watch but i like the 24 hour hand in red rather than green. Both good watches as you would have to see them on your wrist to make a decision.

I have desired the GV for a while but never really loved it except for its uniqueness in its colored glass. The GMT on the other hand is just absolutely gorgeous. So if I was to pick now, I would definitely go with the GMT. The supercase along with its attention to details, is absolutely stunning. People will notice you with the GMT on. I've loved it from the beginning and will probably purchase one someday.

I'll tell you. . . my two cents are simple.

Love both. The GMTIIc is fantastic. However, the Milgauss is just hands down unique and fun. The green, orange, and black along with that zany lightning bolt second hand make it an easy winner for me.

Saw all three variants in the case when I got the SD on Saturday. Just instantly fell in love with the green mil.

Good luck!

Sounds like the SD will be sharing wrist time very soon!

Milgaus....hands down.

I personally hate the the maxi dial and the new case of the IIc. The bracelet is ok though on a GMT IIc.

Milgauss has no date, and was developed for people in high magnetic field jobs, it was never meant to be such a success with the general buyer. Personally I don't get it, as to why it is so popular. The GMTc has it's small problems, but at least it's very functional. I just worry about the defects that keep coming up on this watch. No idea why bezels, and inserts are falling off, and this solder problem. I would go for a GMTc, but the shiny center links, and the inability to time anything except in 5 minute increments, plus the square shaped case put me off once I saw it in person. My heart is set on a Deep Sea. Each to his own.

I own and enjoy both. However if I could only own one it would be the IIC all the way. IIc, IMHO is the top Rolex sport model of all time.

Like both, but for me it would be the GMTIIC.

PS The Milgauss GV has a much better shot of becoming a sought-after, legendary Rolex in a a few decades if that is a consideration for you. For me, it is not.
