Hi, I am currently travelling in London and went into a WOS shop and asked them how much % would I claim back from VAT. The guy said it's not 17.5% but more like 10%. Is this correct? I would have expected I can get 15% of the tax included price back.

they are sort of correct. back in the days when the VAT was 15%, you'd gert about 10% back after all the fees and charges if you purchase the watch outside the airport.

however, if you buy it at the airport after the security, it is a straight 17.5% off these days.

hope this makes sense.
