Excellent customer service at my local AD

I decided to stop in to see my local AD here in Chattanooga this weekend just to browse. Whilst fondling a spiffy new DSSD, I asked to speak with their watchmaker. She came over and I asked her what the charge would be to try to remove a couple scratched on my 16610 bracelet clasp. They were inflicted by the AD in St. Maarten where I bought it when he adjusted the bracelet for me, but I didn't notice 'til I was back on the ship and making way. Anyway, as I said I was perfectly willing to pay a fee as these non "patina" scratches bugged the h@ll out of me. She asked for my watch and took it to her work station and reappeared in 5 min, or so. The clasp looked brand new. I couldn't believe she buffed them out so quickly as they appeared to be kind of deep. I again offered to pay for the service and told her how happy I was with the result. She wouldn't accept anything.. I'll definately be back there when I get the $$ squirreled away for the GV on my wish list. So rare to get good customer service these days. I was impressed.

Good for you. There are still some very good A.D.'s out there. My experience is that normally the ones with the best customer service are not the large chains. Certainly there are exceptions to that, but I have mostly found the best service by going to the little known A.D.'s!

Again

How a ten bucks effort can can back to you as a $6000 deal.

When you want to buy your next, this will be your first place to go, if they'll give you a good discount..the deal is made.

Exactly. If I purchase my next one from an AD (as opposed to here on TRF), they will be the ones. Especially if they offer a discount!
