Help me authenticate this old Submariner
Hi
A friend of mine got old Submariner from somewhere in the 80īths which he got aboute ten years ago from his aunts ex fiance. There are no box, papers or anything with this clock and since the fiances now and ex fiance we cant ask him aboute this watch. Can anyone see if its a real one, and if so what year and model no might it be? As you can see the time hasnt been pretty harsh for this one and the locking mechanism for the bracelet are broken, whats a fair price for it? Iīm interested of buying it and repair it if it shows up to be real. But just looking at the "5" digit and bracelet makes we wondering aboute this ones authenticy. Sorry for my english, not the best but im trying :) |

Hi Carpe_Me,
Welcome to TRF I'm afraid the watch pictured is a counterfeit/replica, all the way from the dial, bezel down to the movement.

Sure itīs a lot of money for a vintage clock but i see it as an investment which usually doesnt losses to much value. Like a car, buy a new one and at the moment you sign the paper it lose something like 30% and more when you collect it! I wonīt. But i told my friend he got a fake one from his aunts ex and he wasnt that happy to hear aboute it.. Thanks :) Quote:
But i wish i had it, theres a construction site here with a couple of steamrollers |

That is one vintage counterfeit - 1980's vintage. Not many of those floating around anymore.

Sleep :-) ah I remember those days little one is not 6 weeks old and still keeping us up a bit here and there, another months and he'll settle down :-) I'd say something like dreaming of sleep but thats a little circular
