daytona tt scratches
I was at an AD today and was looking at a tt daytona and noticed many scratches on the watch. I am very anal with my stuff and would go nuts with these scratches over time. For those with tt watches are the scratches that bad and noticeable . I guess this is why the ss watches are more popular right ?

I guess so. TT seems to get more noticable scratches. I wear steel brushed Rolex watches.

It is not really as bad as TT are made out to be ...
But once a TT gets polished, watchout BOY ...there ain't an SS on earth that can match its glitter and shine .... |

I know I agree with you and I am not afraid to wear gold just don't want it to look bad with scratches quickly . I also heard that you shouldn't polish gold more than five or six times and I don't want the watch to disappear over time.

The scratches are inevitable on a gold bracelet. Just enjoy it. I think the scratches give it character.

My AD carries a lot of TT Daytona's and they all have very tiny surface scratches. These are new in a display so once on the wrist they are prone to many more scratches, even when gently worn. I just bought a used TT Daytona and the previous owner said he only wore it a dozen times, but the bracelet had minor scratches in the gold links/clasp. A very gentle polish done by me and it looks like new again. Mine will only be worn on special occasions.

Tiny surface scratches yes.... but large "gouges" no.
I've never seen a TT or YG Rolex that did not have any surface scratches, unless it was immediately after a polish (and even then I bet you can find some). BTW don't think that a SS is any better whatsoever, especially if it is a newer model with the polished rather than brushed center links and such.

I like the TT Sub and TT GMT, but it is true that the gold center links scratch easily..
It is a lot more noticeable when they get a few scratches than after they have been worn for a few weeks and develop an over-all patina.. I just wipe them down with a t-shirt or micro fiber cloth....they do fine just like any other jewelry unless you use a magnifier...

you have to take care of your watches, whether SS or TT. If you polish with CAPE COD cloth, you will be fine and it will shine like new as long as they are surface scratches ...
You don't wanna subject you watches to the grinding wheel which is what dealers and RSC do because of volume ....so be more aware of where you hand is and don't bang it around .... |
