DILEMA - advice req'd please

Hi Guys,

Time for my 4 month old SS Daytona 166520 White Face to go.

It was put on a credit card and the cost is catching up on me.

So, my AD who I have an amazing relationship with has offered me the following :

Submariner Date (non ceramic) for £some pounds
Submariner LV for £good price

This is after serious bargaining and only because I am a friend of the AD.

Opinions please on which watch is a better buy...I am going to sell the Daytona myself, it won't be hard to sell, but it is which watch to buy that poses the biggest question.

Thanks guys...

I would try them both on & go with the one that calls out to you the most. If they are both new that is a good price for both.

Yeh, im delighted with both prices.
Just seriously confused!

If I bought the LV I would probably swap for a black bezel anyway! I do like the maxi-dial.

Get the LV, it will rise in price, and at £cough cough it's a very good deal if you ask me.

I would say, go for the LV
it's discontinued and much less produced by Rolex

Get the LV and put the black insert in as per your other thread.

It's a killer combo, I'm wearing mine right now.

Just a piece of friendly, un-asked for sales advice.

I wouldn't advertise that you are "needing" to sell the Daytona and that the cost is catching up... you may not get full value if the market thinks you are "desperate" to sell it.

Good luck with whichever you chose - please, don't pay with you CCARD and then pay interest, it's only a watch and you don't need to be paying 15 - 20% interest on a watch.

I know it's none of my business and sorry for jumping in - it really was in a friendly manner.

-Pete

Newb question again , but please explain what is the benefit of buying the LV ( I understand it to be the green version ) and then changing the green to black....is that not the same as just getting the black in the first place ?

I compared the pics of 16610 and 16610LV ( which I believe the OP mentioned as his two choices) and with my eye cannot see other differences... help please

They are almost exactly the same, except the LV has the slightly larger dial markers and a thicker minute hand..

I appreciate all advice.

I am not desperate to sell, in my opinion it is a mint 4 month old Daytona, it should sell no problem.

I have had bids from local dealers so if the wedding gets close and its still not sold I can take it to them and get cash that day, and for not much less than I have advertised it here.

Appreciate all comments however and thanks for your advice.

Hi Nairn,
The LV would be my pick out of the two (I'm biased). I noticed that your Daytona has just been placed on the "For Sale" section. I consider the price very fair compared to what "Grey" dealers put them up for over here in the UK. If it had been a black face I think I'd have been very tempted to make a trip up North....
I hope you achieve the price and all the best to you and your good lady on the big day

The LV has the "maxi dial" (larger hour markers) and thicker minute hand...there may be other differences that I am unaware of.

Thank You Gordon :)

I would rather sell it for a fair price than try and be greedy and have a harder sell.

The used dealer near me sells 2005/6/7 models for £6995...kind of bewilders me that people pay that much for really USED models.

Thanks for the kind comments,
Nairn
