Hi, I recently acquired a SS Daytona (V sries) and was wondering if it is possible to change the strap for a fully brushed one, as oppossed to having the inner polished links? I have an old Air King date (my 18th birthday present from my parents, quite a few years ago) and that has the strap that is fully brushed steel, and I do prefer this look.

So, can the strap be swapped, and if so does anyone know what the part number is and approx how much it would cost in the UK?

Ideally I could keep the polished strap for business etc, and then swap it at the weekends for a look that is a little less "dressy"

There is no reason to swap the bracelet for another one...

Also, a new bracelet will cost you more than $1,000USD. It is simple and commonplace for owners to have their polished bracelets brushed..

Personally, I do not wear polished centers except on a TT watch:

Thanks for the advice - would an AD be able to do this (or send it to the service centre to do so) or is there some other place that you would normally get it done?

An AD or an RSC will not likely do this for you..

But, I'm sure that if you aske around at some of the experienced watch shops, they will know a talented watchmaker who can make short work of it..........

I maybe a crazy guy, but you can brush the polished midlinks using the green side of scotch brite.

I made it in a few watches, and it work very well.

Are the lugs on your Daytona polished or brushed?
Thats something to consider as well - ie do you want the lugs to match your bracelet, or your bezel?

I am assuming that they are now polished. I believe that polished lugs always go with polished centers, and brushed lugs with all brushed bracelets - but am not absolutely sure. Maybe someone can comment about this.

You are correct in this point, in a classy way, the midlinks should match the lugs, to have a balanced look....

Thats why daytonas have polished midlinks, as the YM ones.
