That's a very beautiful 18 K gold Cellini of yesteryear!! Not sure what kind of a price it would command today, but you might be hard pressed to find a buyer.

Is it a quartz or a manual wind?

Have no idea about the pricing of the Cellini range have a look around the net for a price selling guide. But as a rough
guide a maximum of around $2000,as long as its was authenticate first. That is a shop buying price,For you to sell to a store you would be offered a lot less, the Cellini range are not the most popular Rolex watches.

I saw one here in Oz. The same except that the dial was red.

I think it was on offer at a retail store for around A$7,000.

Seems a little high for me. I would say around A$3,000-5,000.

Posting it all over the forum isn't going to make folks answer faster.

Mods, I suppose this thread ought to be deleted.

All caps are considered rude "shouting" on the web (don't ask me why). It is also a bad idea to post excessively in an attempt to get a quicker response. It is also a bad idea to get into it, so to speak, with forum members from whom you are seeking advice.

Now that your scolding is out of the way , it looks like a 1970's era Rolex Cellini model, likely all gold. The problem with the watch is that it is very out of fashion and that hurts its value. If you found someone who loves the style , and has to have it.... I say $1500-$2000 USD is fair. A watch retailer will offer you $400-500 at best. Hope this helps.

****edited to add that Montecristos advice re: getting the watch authenticated by Rolex is 100% correct.

Well, first thing you want to do is to take it to the RSC and have to authenticate it, things will be easier if you can provide more detail info instead of just a few pics being its not a current model.

If someone have an answer for you here, we would have let you know already. So its not like we didn't saw the post, I for one didn't reply the first time because I had nothing valuable to add. What I suggested above is just something I thought you should do, you don't have to if you don't want to.

If it turns out to be an authentic piece, they will give you the model information and its easier to find out the value with those info.

What about sending a message to the past and asking mum to buy a newman daytona and a sub for the same money as the 18ct Cellini?

I'm leaning more to Beyond the Fringe.

Or Firesign Theater (listening to that while doing some good sh!t had an existential quality to it).
