DayDate or Explorer 1655
Two massively different watches I know but they are both future grails of mine, currently looking out for a deal, anyway, watched 'The Great Escape' last night and it's put me in a nostalgic sort of mood leaning me more towards the 1655.
Thoughts?

The DD is the best value in this market if bought right. But I would buy what makes you smile and 1 that you will wear and enjoy.

I would say go with opportunity....whichever one comes up first at the right time and price.
But to choose, I would go with the 1655. |

Tom, I can't be of much help because I would say to buy one and then save up for the other. I do love spending other people's money.....

Was there a 1655 on The Great Escape? Who? Where?! I kinda really like both - I think it depends on what you already have and would fill that out better.

Really!? This can be so embarassing especially for me!
I always wondered how/why he was associated with the 1655, as photos I've seen usually show him with a Sub. I guess I have to go rent and watch now ..... .. .. but wait, isn't that movie set during WW2? 1940s? -- ie no 1655!
