Oyster Raleigh Crown
Picked up a Rolex Oyster Raleigh with a black dial, can any of you guys tell me how the crown works, I cant move it and dont want to do any damage, any information on this watch would be a step forward, regards

Well it should just unscrew then pop out to the manual winding position.The Raleigh was from around 1944/5 made mainly for the Canadian/English market with the Cal 59 movement.

Unscrew the crown (counterclockwise); after about 3 turns it will pop out, pushed by a spring. In that position you can wind it. You will feel the winding/ratcheting. To set the time, pull the crown gently and you'll feel it click to a further outward position.

Interesting watch. Great price. I'm trying to find a pic of my buddy's, that I had repaired for him but it's been lost in the midst of computer upgrading. It keeps excellent time. My, what a big puffy wrist you have!
