Latest Serialnumber on Sub 16610

Hiya all! Walked into my AD and tried on a black sub and asked if its the latest V-series. He told me that rolex stopped with the V and replaced it with only numbers no Alphabetical letters more.

Anyone have a 2010 sub that can confirme this?

While I do not have a new serial Sub, I can confirm that yes the new serial system is random numbers and letters mixed together. If you go to the sale thread, there is a Sub ND with the new serial system. Cheers.

Yep, mine is from 2-2010 and still a V.
But there are random numbers out there.

I saw the LV version as you describe, they started with 000 if I recall correctly.

One of the random serial number Subs have been circulated to the store where I work so far, but it was snapped up pretty quickly

I saw a 16610 today with 7 numbers and 1 letter at the end. It looked weird to see the tag.

I'm guessing it's still possible to do it on bracelet codes, but to be honest, this is more to do with ADs - stops accusations of a new watch with a previous serial number from being 'old'

I got my LV today and it is an H-series. The newest series according to the AD in Gothenburg.

I picked up my latest addition on Monday.

16610 with random serial number, the AD had just received it and the serial number has random numbers and letters it starts 9P86.......

It's not a H-series, just a random selection of 8 letters and numbers which happens to have H at the start

I'm a newbie here and possibly picking up a 16610 next Monday. How can I check the series of the sub? Is it always better to find a 2010 V series?

I visited an AD a week ago and quoted $5700 CAD taxes in, but forgot to mention the series. I shopped around and this one AD quoted me the best. The price list is $7000 with 27% off + 13% tax and it came out to $5700. Is it a reasonable price compared to other countries?

I also STFFed abit before and you could get one for $5500 CAD in HK with a standard 8% discount. I'm not sure about the state tho.

Here ya go.........check out the new serial no. system on this brand new watch which is up for sale in our For Sale section. The new numbers consist of 2 letters and some numbers. It's random, but it's obviously the new system now being adopted by Rolex.

Other than that, it's just a case no., that's all. Everything else about the watch remains the SAME!!

Picked up a new V prefix GMTIIC yesterday. I questioned the AD about the whole prefix thing and he explained V is the last of the current ID format.

They are now going to random letters/numbers

Now you have let the cat out of the bag,now they will checking the bracelets and if was stamped say 12 months ago.Now they will want the latest bracelet even if its not changed.This is how ridicules the previous case stamp system was, myself applaud Rolex for changing at last the approx year when a case was stamped. A new watch is a new watch no matter when a case was stamped and with the same warranty whether its Z,M.V or random.Rolex must have possibly thousands of cases stamped,all ready to be matched with a movement.Now said movement could be older or newer made or visa versa.Now Rolex must have quite a large stock of say the cal 3135 waiting in factory. plus a large number down at the COSC being tested and returning from testing.So who knows how old the main bit the movement is, before its mated up to
a case.

Yea,,,buy in Hong Kong with 8% discount for 16610 is HK$40,940 (~US$5,282) it is the fix price from all HK AD...here still have plenty stock of 16610 and LV,,,the serial # is still V here,,,but I see started at V9 already for the 16610.

Anyway,,,16610 is a awesome timepiece,,,serial# is nothing special unless you can some special meaning # like 007 or good fortune for yourself~
