2004's COSC breakdown
They issued just over one million COSC certificates last year, apparently down 10% from the year before. With Rolex producing an alleged one million watches, it appears almost 400,000 are not COSC.
ROLEX 628,556 OMEGA 226,796 BREITLING 135,423 PANERAI 26,052 CHOPARD 11,511 ULYSSE NARDIN 11,448 TAG HEUER 7,447 ZENITH 5,073 CORUM 4,991 CHANEL 4,832 TIFFANY 2,826 MIDO 2,411 BULGARI 2,315 PAUL PICOT 2,312 LOUIS VUITTON 1,912 EBEL 1,693 INVICTA 1,026 LONGINES 999 All OTHERS obtained fewer than 900 certificates. |

Thanks for the heads-up, Johnny.
Mido, for its size, has surprisingly done pretty well for itself. JJ

Great stuff, John - it would be interesting to see the percentage of these manufacturers' outputs that are COSC rated.

Interesting numbers for Panerai since they only make around 35,000 watches a year, and the BASE models are not certified due to the lack of seconds hand.

You don't need a seconds hand to get certified by COSC....plenty of two handed watches have COSC certs.
It's all accomplished using a scale or mark on the fourth wheel. |
