LV Sub or original Sea Dweller?

Trying to make a decision on which one. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

they are two different watches, with pros and cons for each: get whichever is best for you.

Or both.

I'd go with the SD. It's a classic. There are several variations of the Sub, but only 1 SD.

Good luck!

Apologies if this is misjudged, but it sounds like a question of 'which one is going to be rarer/more sought after in the future' affecting your decision.. (as these two are recently discontinued)

I did this with my SD, and whilst I love the look, I want something a bit more exciting. I am close to the TT GMTiic currently.

Just my 2c, no offence intended in my accusation

Production-wise, I would say the SD has more since they've been out since the 70's. Keep in mind the LV has only been around since '03. This model marks the 50th anniversary of the Sub.

No wrong answer. If only one I tend to favor the maxi dial and add a black insert for versatility.

I like the looks of the LV Sub much more than the SD.

I find the green bezel mildly irksome and silly.

Give me the SD any day, and twice on Sunday. There can be only one!

My decision process went like this...
- Must have iconic Rolex...
- Submariner
- HATE the cyclops...
- Like the date...
(Did I say hate the cyclops?)
- Sea Dweller!!!

Most people won't know the difference and if they ask, tell 'em "it's the new Submariner 2.0 that I'm beta testing."

Happy hunting!

Tough call. I tried on both a few times over a couple of years and ended up getting the LV. Both are great watches, but I felt the LV looked and felt better on me.

Tough call, personal choise really. Try them both on and you will know which one you like the most. No one can really tell you which one to buy.

I choose the LV, but if it is all brand new and the price is the same, I may actually be tempted to buy the SD.

Tough choice you have there mate!

Love the maxi dial of the LV. Love the size and feel of the SD.
But if I could have ONLY ONE, I'd pick the SD. Unless it's an 2003 early F or Y sub LV ( some called it the real anniversary sub )
