I love that watch. I looked at one in vegas. I like how the 6 on the bezel changes color based on the bezel color. Very subtle, yet so beautiful. Nice acquisition.

Great looking watch Allan not many off those around quite underrated in the Rolex world IMHO.A bit like the 6263/65 Daytona was very poor sellers 70s-80s.But how the tables have turned, same for the root beer times they are a changing.

I think it's gorgeous too Allan
Does the gold run right through the clasp on this one or is it too early? (I'm guessing no but I could be wrong). Might have to wait a long while until you meet someone else wearing the same watch mate . Best regards - Neil. |

Let's have some detailed pics of the clasp...inner and outer. Thanks - JJ

Great buy Allan, now you need something with a black face to compliment your collection.

Congrats Allan!
love the bronze dial, it's got real character and a nice texture to it. Plus, those white markers stand out nicely. Enjoy wearing it my friend.

Thanks everyone for the kind words. And Prezzie, you don't have to like it. That's OK with me. I don't like every watch I see. Lighten up guy - everything's OK.
No, the bracelet is not an SEL (so no gold-thru) - this is a 1995-vintage GMT-Master II, so can't hope for that. And Adrian, as you can see, I steer clear of Black dials. Too sinister for me!

I see you changed the rootbeer club logo. I made the other one to try and capture both types one would see, maybe I should modify mine too... naw, i'll proabably just leave it be. Congrats again Allan! |

Yes, the condition is actually printine! I am very happy with that. The one thing I am not all that happy about, and I kinda suspected it upfront, is that it does not have an original bracelet. I was hoping that the photos from the seller were of a different watch when picturing the bracelet and clasp, but it was the one I bought. The one on it is a TT Sub bracelet. It looks great and works great, but I will be working on getting an original GMT bracelet sometime in the future. Anyway, it is a great watch, and the bracelet issue is easily remedied.

Guilty as charged, Adrian!
Thanks, Bill. We had an A&W root beer stand in St. Augustine back in the 50's/60's, and it was THE hangout for the teen crowd. Sadly, it is long gone. But I, as you, still like a good root beer - both the drink AND the watch!

Congrats on the nice watch, Prince! I saw a Rootbeer GMT for the first time this weekend while I was in Canada. It's very nice in the flesh.

Nice! really like the way the gold outlines of the hour markers contrast with the light brown dial.

Nice. I never liked the smaller wg nipples on the older rootbeers, but your GMTII looks great.
