Resale value: SS vs. TT

So resale value ss vs. tt
Is the value strictly cuz of demand / desirability?

My understanding is u can sell a used ss for the same price as a tt!

What's the situation?

This is often the case because the SS watches are more desirable. If you sell it to someone who will resell it then they may buy the TT and SS for the same price because the SS will, in most cases, be easier to sell.

I personally like the TT, but a lot of people seem to think it is out of style which drives the price down in the used marketplace.

TT used to have , about 10-15 years ago, a great resell value in Europe. Still good in some places of the mediterranean area, just the culture of enjoying gold. I don't like the TT personally, found the bracelets wear down realtively quickly and a lot of the older generation wears TT

Supply and demand always drives the price of used goods.. What it's made of (SS vs TT, or even solid gold) is seldom a criteria, unless the objective is it's scrap value.........

If the demand for TT is low, then there are not many people buying them, so then there are not many newer used ones in circulation; thus, the used market scales with the lower demand and there is a decent market for the used TTs. I bet in this way the supply and demand balance out at all levels. So, you should simply buy based on what you like and not what other people like. I would worry less about what people will buy used and worry more about what you personally desire...

And of course the YG models take the largest plunges from MSRP. Right now you can find reasonably priced YG DD's.

Tastes change, styles change. I wouldn't be surprised to see TT back in fashion in several years. I find them too blingy.

Agree with all of the above, "The Law of Supply and Demand" controls it, thus, the SS for now has better resale value.

Personally, I'm glad. I always wanted a TT GMTii cus I like how it's just a bit of bling, without being all gold (which I think looks gaudy; but thats me), and yet still be practical in most situations. I'm coming from a Titanium Omega Seamaster (like the Bond watch but with chronograph dials additional to it), which has no bling factor at all. I don't mind a bit of attention. It's sort of the difference between wearing a suit and sweats. One just makes you look and feel better when out in the public.

Wasn't prepared to spend the money on one brand new, but the used market brought prices down enough for me to acquire one. It's gorgeous and I am so glad I got it.
