I likee shinee
Awhile ago I noticed a friend of mine wearing what appeared to be a very striking Rolex Sub. Although I did'nt ask him about it, by looking every chance I got, I pegged it as a fake. What I think first attracted my attention was that the watch was totally shiny. Case, bezel, band and all. It really did look quite nice and different. I wonder if anyone ever committed the ultimate sacrilege and buffed out their genuine Rolex. I'm sure no one would admit to it!

Not me. I think it has just the right amount of shine out of the box.

Funny, a while back I was guilty of owning a counterfeit Daytona White-face Folex (It had the fake "Daytona 24" engraved into the back case).
When I first got it, it was nice and shiny. After a bit of wear, the luster disappeared and the braclet seemed kind of dull. I attribute this to poor quality materials. Now, my true Rolex SD still has it's shine and luster since the first day I bought it. I believe it to be due to the better quality of materials used to make this watch. I believe your buddy's Folex will eventually lose it's luster also. It's not a question of if, but when. |

Well I had the centre links polished to a mirror finish once on a SD,but after two days had it returned back to normal.
